Good afternoon all, it’s sunny and quite warm.

I walked Bill first thing, I need that bit of normality. I hadn’t been able to get a Tesco delivery for this week but got a click and collect order instead so me and Tom went to collect that. I got flour - plain and SR - and hand sanitiser :o No eggs though, when I finalised the order just before Midnight there were none at all available to order. Breakfast cereal is proving tricky to get too. I’ve got to take my Mom’s shopping later so I think I’ll pop into Aldi beforehand and see what I can get in there, hopefully they’ll have the items that were missing from Mom’s list too. Oh, and we got a free chicken (unfortunately not able to lay eggs) as I’d ordered one for Sunday dinner, the website said that they have 6+ days before the use by date but the one they’ve sent only has three days so I’ve contacted them and they’re refunding it. I’ll cook it for sandwiches.

That’s a good sign Osc xx

Have a good day all :)

Good afternoon! Lovely sunny day today and the wind has died down. We'll have a stroll out later on when this ancient laptop completes its batch of monthly updates which usually takes a good hour or so.

I had a busy day yesterday including walking to the local garage and booking the MOT and service. They have reopened to all-comers and I think I'd rather get it done than rely on the six-months extension. Incidentally if you are relying on the extension, the Government website advises you to check online three days before your usual expiry date that they HAVE given you the extra six months. If not, you will need to email them.

This morning I've continued rooting out the dandelions from the lawn and avoiding the bees who are still annoyed I've thwarted their plans to nest in our water overflow pipe. I temporarily plugged it with animal wool to deny them entry. I've no problem with bees per se, but not nesting inside the house!

Stay safe all

Jo, I got eggs but no plain flour! :?

Osc, that's a positive sign ((((x))))

The queue for Sainsbury's went round the front of the shop, right back past the ATM, the garage, and all the way down the side of the store  I got chatting to a young woman in front of me, she had a baby 7 weeks ago, and her OH left left her a few days ago, having a bit of a meltdown about everything! Poor kid :( I got everything we needed, and everything D needed, apart from flour. It wasn't quite as stressy as last week, thankfully - maybe people are getting used to it :?:

Jeez Kaz, that poor girl.... life is really tough as it is without something like that happening. I just really hope that she has a support network somewhere because if not; it doesn't bear thinking about :( heartbreaking

Oh, poor girl. As Ria said, hope she's got some help.

Done the strimming, no all of it, too jiggered. The "grass" was far too long, but we couldn't do it before because of the weather.

Idiot next door is trying to mend the fence down the track, so I'll do that tomorrow. Don't want to get too close ;)

Oh Kaz that's awful! The poor girl!!

Today we have been on a lovely walk.....just local, walked across to my birthplace village, all of two miles away as the crow flies, and as I had on Monday, we continued on to the railway line. It's actually the main Newcastle to Kings Cross line - can you believe in the 70s I used to take my nephews aged about 6 and 9, regularly down to watch the trains, and there were no barriers whatsoever, we used to sit and watch them pass all afternoon. Now since they are electric, there are fences up and barriers, but there is a bridge you can cross over towards the next village (the one where my sister lives) so we went over that way. I'm a nerdy geek with trains too.....I used to love lying listening to them pass in the still of the night when I was little, 4 passed today while we were close enough to see them, I got so excited! We continued walking that side of the railway track until we got to the road we use to drive to my sister's. She's a long way further into the village and obv we can't properly visit, so we turned right and headed back home, think we did about 5-6 miles altogether.

I sat in the garden to read while having lunch and then I've been dividing some clumps of crocosmia and replanting them - whether it works I don't know but the garden looks fuller now. It's much warmer today than it was yesterday, thanks to the wind dropping, really pleasant to work in the garden and perfect conditions to walk in!

It is awful, isn't it? :( Luckily she did mention family, a mum and a brother.

Saundra, I got a pack of a dozen free-range! :D I saw them, muttered "Yes!!" under my breath, and a lady further down the aisle burst out laughing! .

Gal, I love trains too - travelling on them, watching them, and listening. We have a railway line behind this estate, and you can hear it when it's quiet 8-)
