Morning all, another nice day here. Yesterday was an absolutely glorious day and we went for a three-hour walk - we are lucky that a 2km radius of the house gives us a great variety of walks. We brought a little picnic, which we ate at a high point which overlooks Dublin Bay and down as far as Wicklow to the south and up the north coast too, we could see the Mountains of Mourne. It was wonderful to just enjoy the beautiful day and put the chaos aside.

This morning I will be having a phone consultation with the radiation oncologist to whom I have been referred, between 11-1, so we can’t go out until that is done. There is ironing to be done but I might leave it until tomorrow.

Afternoon all :D

Wet and miserable here :?

We'll definitely want a picture Ria.
Hope all goes as well as these things can Crommers.
Osc hope the radiation oncologist is able to give you more information and a date for when treatment can start.

Not being able to get to a hairdresser has meant my roots were getting desperate so E helped me colour my hair this morning. Feeling rather pleased with our effort, I haven't had to do my own colour since I was in my early 40's and back then it was just a wash in wash out rinse. Really, really need a good cut though, I might look like a witch by the time I see my hairdresser again but at least I won't be forced to find out what my true colour is ;)

Did a load more shredding yesterday, just goes to show how much I hoard, by the time I'm finished the house will look empty. Still a few more files to do. The next job on the list is the bedroom drawers and wardrobes, I'll need to build some enthusiasm first though

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good afternoon - miserable and drizzly rain here all morning, and cold too, so we've put the central heating on. Still, like Kaz, I'm not complaining about the wet, we desperately need it.

Housebound, so just like Jen, spent the morning going through volumes of old paperwork, weeding out and shredding. The shredding can only be done 10 minutes at a time before the thing overheats and cuts out. The biggest problem will be disposing of it all - I have 3 refuse bags full now and Dorset CC frown on you putting it out in the recycling bin, and of course the public tips aren't open. Subterfuge has to be employed, so Wheetabix boxes and prescription bags full of shredding go out in recycling, and if the worst comes to the worst, I guess I'll have to go on a long walk with a bag in my trousers and gradually let it out, like the prisoners of war in the camps used to do to get rid of the soil from tunneling in "The Great Escape".

Must repot the house plants at some point as well.

Strict baking discipline here … tempting as it is, we have resolved to have a baking day only once a week, the rock cakes are rationed to 2 each per day, and when they're gone, they're gone.
Hope the funeral went OK, Crommers.
Best wishes to all.

We 'attended' a funeral last week, for John's Gran who was late 90s.....it wasn't corona related but the service was online so we were able to log in and listen. It was different, and quite sad that other relatives couldn't be there :(

So today - two firsts! :D I went to Lidl for the first time since March 13th, AND Home Bargains! Lidl was ok, no queuing outside but some people were in twos inside (!!) so had to keep a wider than normal berth....I spent a lot though and stocked up the cupboards and fridge/freezer - Tom's done fab seeing as he doesn't do grocery shopping, but it's nice to see stuff I have bought now! I was able to get nearly everything I needed too. And the other 'first' was being out in the car to go there - not driven for 6 weeks! I took a pack of antibac wipes and wiped everything down first, and a handbag size bottle of hand sanitizer for when I got back in the car. I had to queue a little outside HB but not for long and restocked my cleaning stuff, also got a couple of cone shaped planters to hang on the outside wall - only need plants now. I was absolutely scared stiff while I was in Lidl, heart racing the lot, so I was glad to get out. The Range, just across from Lidl, had a very long queue to get in!

No rain yet here, although it's been cloudy nearly all day, and a lot cooler than yesterday.
