Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 06 May 2020, 05:26

Good morning.

Sunny and hot. 8-)

Off for my morning constitutional finishing up at the hairdresser at 10am!!

Yes....hurrah. Lockdown lessening means I will no longer have to look like Worzela Gummidge.

I get my hair trimmed every 3 weeks but not having had it cut since February 26, and given I have the fastest growing hair in the world...you can only imagine what a mop I have at the moment.

I'll nip to Mercadona when I'm done as exercise time (gosh it sounds like a prison  ) will have finished but going shopping allows me to be out.

GB Menu and Sewing Bee tonight. :D

Have a good day.

Morning Ally, Saundra and everyone

Hazy start and a little chilly. But a warm day is forecast 8-)

Off to Ourique after breakfast, need water, wine and beer. Some food too ;) Also hoping Pingo will have the masks in.

<giving myself the day off from weeding today. Did a lot yesterday and as I was trundling the last wheelbarrow down the garden, one of the flower beds called out, so I pulled up all the weeds/wild flowers from there too  At least we can see what we've planted now

My hairdresser is stuck in England, so Grumpy will have to do the honours

Have as good a day as you can everyone xx

Morning all. Have a lovely day in the garden Saundra. Ally as ever I am jealous of your weather. Jan, I need wine too. Specifically the two bottles that were missing from my last on line order.
A nice morning here, the weather seems to be coming from the east today. We need to get our prescriptions today and Eliza is being brought down this afternoon. It's been hard for Elie and Lee with no childcare for the last month and a bit.
They came down yesterday for a bit. Ellie aid it was wonderful just to have ten minutes to herself, sitting on the bench in the sun. To see Ellie and Eliza together is lovely. The love of a mother for her child and vice versa is a wonderful thing.
Then when the time came for them to go home they couldn't because Ellie couldn't find the car keys. After 25 minutes of increasingly desperate searching they were found - on the car roof!
Have a good day all.

Morning all

Crommers - glad you found the keys in the end! :D what a place to have left them, you're lucky no one untoward saw them and made off with the car ;-) And lovely to have the family come visit and for you to be able to help out. Times are tough enough at the moment so this is so important to have
Saundra, enjoy your day in the sunshine - suspect I'll be doing some of that in between monitoring emails
Ally enjoy the haircut; and
Jan hope you get everything you need

I just ordered a whole lot of hand sanitizer for the office so we have it when the time comes.... 10l should do as a start I'd have though  :D

Another regular work / garden pootling day today

have a lovely one everyone x

Morning all :)

Ally, my hair is longer than its been for ages, as mine was last cut beginning of Feb. I'll be pinning it back or up soon :cute:

Saundra, a day by the sea would be lovely, wouldn't it? :) 8-) xxx

Jan, you deserve that day off 8-) xxx

Crommers, having Eliza must be a blessing at the moment 8-) :)

Ria, that sounds enough to be going on with :P ;)

Sunny here, just done a Zumba, and making a cuppa 8-) Ironing to do later, otherwise not much planned :)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Goods morning - glorious sunny day here, complete contrast to yesterday.

Dropped the car in early for the annual service/MOT and walked back from the garage. We might not get the car back today as they are operating with a skeleton staff and apparently have a few jobs left over from yesterday. Otherwise, Mrs O has put a washing load out on the line and I've been chopping vegetables after yesterday's mammoth shop.

Despite all the notices and announcements, I don't think the local supermarket customers have really got the hang of social distancing yet as it's still a free-for-all once you're inside the store. Waitrose don't help themselves as they could install a one-way system but haven't. Stocks were not brilliant and they had totally run out of the flimsy compostable / reusable plastic bags put out for loose veg. So caught short by that, I had to buy a pack of reusable string bags at an eyewatering cost of £6 which didn't amuse me one bit. At the checkout, I hung back and this time got told to put my purchases on the conveyor before the previous customer had finished paying - totally contrary to my last visit when I got told off for being too hasty! I remarked on that to the checkout lady, and she just rolled her eyes and said the in-store guidelines seem to change every week! I paid in that strange commodity known as cash, the first time I've used such a thing for over a month!

I then went to Iceland; as before, a far better shopping experience even if they have virtually nothing to sell! Struggling to find anything worthwhile, this week's Mystery Ossie Surprise Purchase was a large jar of Mrs Ellwood's Pickled Burger Gherkins.
"Well," Mrs O remarked, "at least you didn't bring home a $%£&^^$ cucumber!"
"They didn't have any," I said

Always nasty when you mislay your car keys, Crommers - I know the feeling.
Enjoy your day in the garden, Saundra, they're giving it turning colder on the East Coast towards the end of the week, I think.
Take care all ...

Morning all :D

Another bright and sunny day 8-)

Enjoy your hair cut Ally. Think it will be a long time before I get mine done, like Kaz I'll be putting it up soon.

With all the clearing out, I'm building another load of shredding, will probably get some of it done today.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Still no masks   Most eople seem to be wearing the one's issued by the local council - we're still waiting for ours - but there were a great variety

But there didn't appear to be any more people around now that more small shops are open.

Got most of the stuff I wanted and even some steaks that weren't on the list   but they were on a special offer, so they're now in the freezer.

As it's not too hot, might get changed and sit on the drive and pull some weeds up. Grumpy is going to wash the car - it's filthy from the track, even though we're only using it once a week.

Enjoy the rest of the day xx

Afternoon all. I was up and out early this morning for a 9am appointment at the hospital, for my planning scan. It went very well, and got my marking tattoos, 9 days of radiotherapy start on 20th May. I filled the car with petrol on the way home and that should cover my nine days of driving for the treatment. It is a wonderful day here and we’ve been sitting out in the sun, then came in for lunch. I’ll head back out shortly and read my book for a while. I thought about changing the bed ...... but having thought, I might leave it until tomorrow
