The quarry I mentioned is still very much active, if anyone would like to see quite how much limestone we have in this area, check this out!!

Thats huge Gal, which of the nearby villages do you live in?

Where is the quarry you were talking about Jo, that sounded really nice

It’s part of Shoal Hill Common which is between Cannock and Huntington.

I was born and raised in West Cornforth, moved to Coxhoe when I got married, and have been there more or less ever since (small spell in Doncaster with the ex about 30 years ago!!)

Where the largest quarry is, used to be fields and when I was 15-16, I'd take my two little nephews, then 5 and 8, through those fields and across the road and beyond to the main line of the London to Edinburgh railway! We'd walk down there and just sit watching them pass, we can only have been feet away from the tracks!! That's the 70s for ya!! :shock: :lol: :lol:
