I’ve looked on the ONS page where you put your postcode in and there have been 7 deaths in our immediate area between March and May, it says though that some deaths have been reallocated from neighboring areas to protect confidentiality so who knows how true the number is.

An interesting website, Jo, having tracked it down - it seems that there have been 4 deaths in our immediate area (which is basically around half of the town). This breaks down as 1 in March, 2 in April and 1 in May.

But if I'm reading it correctly, these are deaths of residents, but not the actual location of the deaths. So in theory, then, someone could have been taken into, let's say, Salisbury Hospital, for some entirely different reason or other, and could have contracted the virus there and died there. But Covid-19 is then mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor, and that person gets counted as a fatality in our area.

So, like you say, I am not sure that these statistics are giving us a particularly relevant snapshot of what is actually happening in town. What might be more relevant would be if they did the same statistical exercise for tested positive cases.

Looking at our old postcode in Birmingham, there have been 6 deaths in the three months - but the surrounding areas look much more horrifying .... :|

Enjoy your thunderstorm!

I have an eternity ring on my right hand, which I have managed - just - to take off

I've changed washing up liquid and it's irritating under my skin. Was hoping some-one would offer to do the washing up, but apparently, it was better that I took the ring off  :cute: :cute:
