Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 23 Jun 2020, 04:27

Good morning.

We have Satanic heat...to be expected being June.

Off for my walk. Leaving now means I'm home before 8am which I really like. :D

Food shopping this morning....something I detested before lockdown but which I don't mind at all now. :o

Reading and the pool are this afternoon's plans.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Rather warm already and we have Sahara dust to contend with today too

Won't be doing a lot, watering the new plants and the tomato seeds, telling them to grow so we can eat them

Grumpy will be having a delivery of pallets sometime, so he's happy. He's going to make Fatima a garden bench :D She likes ours, but he's going to make hers a little less erm, rustic  As in, not just chucked together, will be done properly :)

Something cold again for dinner, even cooking potatoes, with the fan on yesterday, I was leaking

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning both :) Morning all :)

Ally it's going to be 30° here by Thursday, so I think I'll be going up to Sainsbury's earlier than usual, to avoid walking and queuing in the heat!

Jan we haven't had the use of D's greenhouse this year, so no tomatoes for us this time :cute:

It's beautifully sunny here today, and forecast to stay that way :D I'll be going to see D at lunchtime, picking up anything she might need from the Co-op en route :) I have a pile of ironing to tackle when I get back

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning all. Due to be quite warm today and it is a nice morning.
Usual not much today but MrsC wants to go to the big Sainsbury's tonight. It's her sisters 60th birthday this week.
We had our gutters cleaned out yesterday. £35, a bargain. The man who did it is called Roy, a local who used to be a miner and became a roofer when the pits closed. He's in his 70's and still working. He got nearly 3/4 of a sack of dirt out of the gutters. How does it get up there?? He did Sergio's over the road and had to take one of the downpipes off to clean it out, it was completely blocked for a few feet!
Have a good day all.

Morning all

I'm in the office today - drove in again, but think it'll be the last time. Traffic is definitely increasing and will only get more. The first time I drove it took me an hour, today was an hour and a half. Yes the train will work out a bit more expensive, but at least I won't be stuck in traffic jams ;-)

So a very much usual / usual for me today

Crommers, that reminds me, I need to fix the gutter on my extension; one of the joints has come loose. I'll clean it whilst fixing. And need to give the windows a clean, and mow the lawn and... and... and.... To be honest I'm not sure how I will ever fit in a full time working job again; my at home life is surprisingly loads busier than I realised it would be :D

Have a lovely day all x

We said the same when we retired Ria :D

Well no plans needed today, the weather's so glorious we'll be sat in the garden making the most of it.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good afternoon all, I honestly don’t know where the time’s going to.

Ria, I’m actually wondering when I’ll find time to go shopping etc when we get back to normal(ish) because I’m finding plenty of jobs to do around the house and garden. Next job on the list is to paint the front door and the meter boxes.

Bill had a very early and very long walk, then he had another one 10 minutes after we got home as I had to post a letter for my Mom so we walked over to the postbox and he managed to stubbornly show me the indirect way home to stretch it out a bit. By that I mean that he stands and stares at me if I start to walk him a way he doesn’t want to go until I give in and go his preferred (longer) way

I’ve also got to work on a meal plan for the next week ready for finalising the Tesco order which is due tomorrow.

Enjoy the day, everyone :)

Afternoon all, the weather is odd here today, mostly cloudy, a bit misty, breezy, but not cold. I drove Edward to the golf club, then when I came back I went to post a birthday card and also on a fruitless search for my preferred washing powder, which neither we nor Miss Osc have been able to get on our weekly shopping. After that, I went for a walk, I’m really trying to make an effort to have a decent walk every day. I want to change the bed and that’ll be the main task for the day done.

It’s funny how certain things have gone out of stock, Cornflakes are the thing I struggle to get now but Tesco still aren’t carrying the usual full range of a lot of things when I look to do my order.
