Just been watching a great series about the Greek Islands - Bethany Hughes' Greek Odyssey, on Channel 5 - when "our" Corfu hotel popped up on screen in the ad break as a competition prize! 8-)

Why does everything turn into a right palaver?!

I’ve bought three ‘large’ items online this year. A vacuum cleaner, a cupboard from Ikea and a dishwasher.

I bought the vacuum cleaner from Currys, paid for it and selected to collect it from the store where it was in stock, I had texts saying it was ready to collect except it wasn’t. They had no stock and wouldn’t be getting any for a few weeks so I had to cancel the order and go elsewhere.

The Ikea cupboard, delivered by DPD, turned up in a damaged box and has slight damage to the one side. Waiting for Ikea to sort that one.

Ordered a dishwasher from AO.com three weeks ago and it’s due to be delivered tomorrow. I checked the tracker yesterday and it said that it was with the courier. I had a text this morning confirming that it’ll be delivered tomorrow. I had a phone call from AO at 6pm to say that it’s not actually in stock and won’t be for another three weeks, there was nothing else suitable so I’ve had to have a refund. Found the same model but in black rather than silver on Argos so bought that, and it said delivery within seven days. Hotpoint are obviously delivering direct and I’ve since had an email from them saying that I can’t select a delivery date just yet but to try around the 30th. Somehow I don’t think delivery will be within seven days....

Oh dear, Jo! :| But take comfort, it's not just you ....

Master O and Dil moved to Sussex from London in April. They had to leave their bed in the London property, so ordered a new one from IKEA (I'm pretty sure it was), with some other furniture, in March, for the new home.
They have had delivery of all the furniture - but are still waiting for the bed which is coming from abroad somewhere. The latest they've heard is that it is not expected before the end of August.
So Master O and DiL are currently sleeping on mattresses on the floor. Only G/S has a bed (cot)!

Neither is sleeping on a mattress on the floor Ossie, but I suppose they're young enough to tolerate it :? ;)
