Morning all
Ally, you'll be well on your way by now - safe travels and have a fab weekend!
Jan, glad the plants are OK. My garden is a mess - but now that the kitchen is more or less done and I've been able to unpack everything again and no more boxes around I feel like I can start sorting the garden. It was just too much trying to get house in order as well as garden. And also helps that my boss is away on holiday for three days next week so it'll be easier for me - him not calling me ever 20 minutes
Saundra, cuppa in bed sounds just perfect on a rainy day. And same as Kaz, I'm not surprised at the rise in numbers. Temperatures have plummeted again and the virus definitely is temperature sensitive and does better in cold; so that combined with the ease of lock down and social distancing; well it's bound to happen. And as Crommers points out - figures aren't anywhere near what they were and at this point the economy needs things to return to normal and the lives vs livelyhood debate has to take a swing the other way.
Cruiser, good thinking. I'm meeting up with a friend tonight for dinner and will pop into Sainsbury's on my way home - I try avoid shops on weekends and find the later evenings work really well. Admittedly stock levels often are low but there are a lot less people around and I'd rather make do with what stock there is than queue / have to sidestep people every couple of steps
Kaz, enjoy the walk. I was saying to Nadine yesterday that we need to get back into doing those. We did really well when the weather was good, but once it became a bit iffy we stopped.... and it did us both the world of good both mentally and physcially. So next week I'm determined to get going again
Crommers, I have a number of blackbird pairs around and their fledglings are such fun to watch. As you may (or may not) know I feed hedgehogs every evening, one bowl in the front garden, one in the back garden and one by the front door area; and without fail - every day I have blackbirds swooping down throughout the day to eat the leftover hedgehog crumbs (which i tend to top up in the mornings for the birds). Such fun to watch and the one that comes to the front door area is so used to me that it often just keep a beady eye on me whilst stuffing their beak before it flies off; and more recently a young bird has been doing the same. Never fails to put a smile on my face
Well a pootling day for me - I've ordered different baskets for the kitchen wall units and they should be arriving by 3pm so I can then pack away the last of the kitchen things. And more cleaning in the lounge to be done so I can put the furniture back as it should be (I had to move everything to make space for all the ikea boxes) and just more general sorting and tidying. As said meeting up with a friend for dinner tonight; we have ordered take away burger and chips from a pub up the road from her, so taking a picnic blanket and plates etc and if the weather is good we'll sit up there on the field and eat, otherwise we'll take it back to hers.
Have a lovely day everyone x
