Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 13 Jul 2020, 04:14

Good morning.

Hot.

It was 13th March we were told school was closing because of Covid. So 4 calendar months later and I really can't believe how quickly the time has gone. :o

Off for a walk in a mo, back for a swim then get ready to go to Dealz in Torremolinos. A lot of salad has been eaten the past few weeks so it's top up time for the salad cream.

Chilling out when I get home. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Warm already 8-)

Washing machine on and that's about my lot for today

Grumpy is in his workshop, sorting out wood to make a couple of doors to hide the washing machine and he's also talking about making another bench

Popping down the bar later - it's an excuse really. The recycling needs taking down and we can check our post box ;)

Very happy to report that the pool is back to it's normal crystal clear after my almost filling it the other day

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everybody,

It has rained in the night and I think we are going to get a lot more as there is a black cloud overhead.
Waiting for a TV engineer to come to fix our TV. Had an email to say he would be here between 8.00 a.m and 10.00 a.m.
Then out shopping. Have several calls. One is to see if I can have some brackets made and how much they will cost. Also visit to post office to send a small parcel.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning Ally and Jan, morning all

Ally, I know - cannot believe it's been four months. Friday 13th March is when our company told everyone to work from home and stay home until further notice - not sure anyone ever even imagined it would still be going on now.

Jan, not often you don't have more than just washing to do - enjoy the quiet day and say hi to everyone at the bar please

Cruiser, hope the TV gets fixed and you manage to source / sort the brackets.

Well, usual working from home for me; emails so far are quiet which means I hopefully will be able to give the chicken fence it's 2nd coat of paint and then I can plant flowers in front of it and make it all look like it's meant to. I'll head to the allotment this evening to water; and maybe do a bit more weeding. I keep losing track of time when there though and need to remember I have animals to feed and put to bed :D . Was there for 5 hours yesterday and got quite a bit done - was lovely.

My nieces' birthday today as well as the mom of my sister-in-law in South Africa; she is 89 today. But because of Covid her care home has been on strict lock down and she hasn't been able to see her mom for four months now. That's just mad, understandable, but mad. Cases in SA are rising rapidly and the country has gone back a step with their lockdown - no alcohol sales with immediate effect again and countrywide curfew from 9pm to 4am. They have a huge problem with large crowds gathering in the evenings so are hoping these two measures will stop that and slow the spread. But I'm not sure it'll make much different at this point - the damage is done.

Well, have a lovely day everyone xx

Good afternoon all.

I had a long walk with Billy this morning, he really stretched it out. Since coming home I’ve done two loads of washing and hung them out on the line....and now it’s raining.

I’ve got the house to myself, John and Joe are at work and Tom’s gone to see Shannon. He’d normally go at the weekend but she’s worked all weekend as the cafe she runs reopened on Thursday (they’re currently opening Thurs-Sunday). There’s no indoor eating though, just takeaways and distanced outdoor tables.

Have a good day all :)

I'm glad they're able to open like that.... our little cafe down the road has been doing the same for some time and they've adjusted their working day. They used to be open mainly for breakfast and then lunch and then close; but now they open a bit later and are staying open longer and it seems to be working well; there are always people outside now
