Afternoon all!!

This is our first damp day - we've had cloudy but today it has been raining, and quite heavy showers, so rather than a walk, we have been into Alnwick to get a few bits and pieces in and have a coffee and a toasted teacake :) Tom, bless him, had booked us a table in my fav restaurant tonight but although I'm happy to have a coffee in a cafe, I'm really not sure about a whole meal out....so we have cancelled the table. He just wanted to make this time special, I know.....I think it should have been a big birthday last year as the surprise he planned (Jen coming to the caravan unbeknownst to me, and staying the weekend) was THE BEST!!! :D On a side note, have any of you eaten out in the evening at all since restaurants reopened?

So we came back and have just been chilling in the caravan....if it dries up later we'll head along the beach as the tide will be going out now.

Tomorrow my brother and SIL are going to Berwick for a few nights and will pass us, so we've arranged to meet up for a coffee on their way. Looking forward to seeing them as not seen them since January!

I ordered some curtains for the front bedroom from ebay and had word to say they have been delivered, when I placed the order, it said Friday! Speedy service but everything is locked up at home so I have no idea where he's left the parcel - the photo is just my drive  I asked Donna to call by and take the parcel home if she can see it!!

Congrats to the new parents Kaz!! :D :D

Have a good day all xxx

That’s lovely news Kaz :D

Gal, I would’ve cancelled too. I can’t imagine eating out in a restaurant while things aren’t ‘normal’.

It’s raining here now. I hope it stops for later. I need to drop some shopping off for my parents and it rained last week too, we were soaked through after standing on their drive for a chat.

We've eaten out lots since lock down was lifted Gal.

But that's just it... it is eating out as in outside out but that's because that's the Spanish way.

Unless they have aircon I won't go into a restaurant.

Lovely news Kaz. X

Good afternoon everybody.
Went to B & Q this morning to get some fence paint. Had to get a different colour as they did not have the one I have used before. Got a ver big can as it is cheaper
than two of the normal size.
This afternoon have had a phone call from the lady who does beauty treatments. We are both goung on Sunday morning at 9.00 a.m to have a pedicure.
My wife normally has a full aromatherapy but this will be done when the restictions are eased even more. There will only be the two of us in the salon and no more customers on Sunday as the salon will have to be cleaned before the next customer comes.
The salon has been completely revamped while it has been closed in lockdown.

Thanks everyone :)

Gal, no, we've had snacks and drinks outside - at Corretto's and the garden centre - but outside at both places. We wouldn't eat indoors at a restaurant yet, and wouldn't want to! :? Hope your parcel is safe! xxx

Thank you all for the kind inquiries. Yes, FiL had a decent first night in the CH, hopefully it will stay that way. It is a lovely place with fantastic views out over rolling countryside. The first time we went I volounteered to stay myself! ;)

On a side note Laura, the girl we found to clean for FiL, suggested that instead of just getting a house clearing firm in that there may be people who could find a use for some of his stuff. So she put out word on Facebook and the phone rang off the hook! It's amazing what people will have when it is free. Laura knew of one lady who needed a washing machine, so that was already spoken for. The lovely man from Buntings took away the cooker and the vacuum and didn't charge us (the cooker is electric and hard wired), another lady who has just split from her husband and who has nothing of her own took some bits - someone is even coming for the bed and settee tonight. One cheeky sod did ask "Do you deliver?" though.

So most of the house has been cleared, happy days.

Hope you are all well and have enjoyed your day. :)

Glad it's all being sorted Crommers :D

Gal, we've been out a couple of times. Once, we sat inside, as that's all they have - it's an old adega (wine store) and they'd put plastic panels between the tables  so won't be going back there again.

But the other one we were able to book a table outside. Every-one is being very good here, masks for the staff. We don't have to, unless we go inside and use the loo. But I have two in my bag at all times, four in the car and a couple at the ready by the front door, just in case.
