Christina Adane, have you heard of her?

She is the 16 yr old black girl who set up Bite Back 2030 a healthy eating charity aimed at teenagers and who petitioned the government to keep the free school meals system in operation over the school holidays. Does that ring any bells?

"I don't want us to be the victims of endless fast food advertisement and celebrities endorsing stuff that everyone knows is bad for us. I want to be part of a world where our health is the priority of the food industry." she said.

A footballer, Marcus Rachford, agreed and he was all over the news.

Today Mr Rachford became Dr Rachford (Hons) for his efforts. Christina Adane, well she's still just Christina Adane a 16 yr old Londoner and co-chair of Bite Back 2030 working for her cause whilst studying for her GCSEs.

Marcus is paid more in a week than Christina will probably ever earn in a year and I know who I would be handing out the honour to. Hint: it is not the footballer.

Only one question WM, why call out the fact that she is black? To me she is just a 16 year old girl.

I mentioned it because that is the narrative. She is black, originally from Ethiopia, lives in one of London's poorest boroughs and is trying to make a difference.

Rachford is also black, from one of Manchester's poorest areas but who is now a multi millionaire who woke up one moring and saw a badwagon to jump on. He is now a Dr.

Women have often had their contribution to society wiped out of history - seems that not much has changed.

Well a least the vote stays. My MIL was one who was looking at having to wait until she was 30 before she could vote. Her mother had no vote until 1918.

But I get your point. Recently there was a question on millionaire about the second woman to get a Nobel prize for physics. I was the only person in the room who knew the discipline because it was of interest to me so I remembered. Clearly the show hosts thought it would already have been forgotten. They were right. It was only back in 2016.

You mean Strickland? But what about Meyer in the 1960s? It was shared, but so was Strickland's in 2016.

For such an occasion it should have been remembered, but that's not how life works.
