Dad has coped so well during Covid Kaz but has been saying the past couple of weeks how desperate he is to see sis and I.

Quarantine has been lifted from France to Scotland but Michele can't travel until 4th August.

She is having an operation on her knee on 24th August, scan and specialist appointments have been made for the last couple of days in July and the 4th was the first flight she could get.

Quarantine hasn't been lifted yet from Spain to Scotland and I chose to fly on 4th August to basically leave enough time for it to be. Still waiting....but I took a punt and booked so's I had a date for dad to focus on.

Fast forward a few weeks from when I booked, dad really keen to see us so I thought, I know, I'll change my flight, fly into EM, stay with Craig a few days adding in the VV meet and then Craig kindly drive me to dad's.

But looking at the rules today, bearing in mind I need to fill in a form of my movements in the UK :o I thought it wise to wait till Ms Sturgeon's spoken about new phases on Monday. :D

Ally it is spot on for you to see what NS has to say as things can change in an instant. Brum is secondary and can wait - it is not life changing - visiting family might be. You must do what is best for you, the rest of us can meet up with you, whenever, and have a real blast. It's not as though an asteroid is going to hit and wipe us all out .... he says, looking to the heavens. :|

I see that the UK has brought back 14 day isolation for visitors from Spain from midnight tonight.

God only knows what Ally can do now. Her and the family plans will be in ruin and all of them will be extremely disappointed.

That's unbelievable - less than 24 hours notice? How can anyone plan anything when Government can just enforce restrictions like this at a drop of a hat. I know there are current concerns about a second spike arising in Spain, but this on/off on/off regulation defies belief. :|

It absolutely beggars belief!

And the most ironic thing is I feel bloody safer here than I ever will in the UK.

I now need to seriously think about whether to stick to travelling on Thursday or defer my trip for two weeks to avoid Q.

But can I be certain it will be lifted then?

As it stands Michele is still going over Tuesday 4 August ( I can't even begin to tell you the conversations we've had about me being at the airport to meet her and us throwing our arms around each other :( )

Dad's a very frail 82 year old and Michele has an operation for a new knee on 24 August.
I was going to be the designated driver, Tesco shopper and all round cheerer upper (sis's words)

Q will mean I can't do any of those things.

I am in absolute bits atm.
