I can’t remember, did you get your refund from them? Gone bankrupt now

We haven’t Rosie, but ours was a package booked with Virgin Holidays and I downloaded our personal ATOL certificate which protects package holidays some weeks ago as it’s all felt a bit shady for a while now. I was also sure to pay it using a credit card (and then clearing the balance immediately) to give us a further layer of protection.

There are people who were amongst the first to have flights cancelled or even had their holidays cut short back in March who are still waiting for refunds, most people in the ever growing Facebook group have been saying for months now that they’ll never book with them again and they’ve managed to do huge damage to their brand.

Good thinking Jo - when Flybe went bust, we were able to get a refund on flights through the credit card. I’m always amazed at these big companies getting in trouble, it just shows that they must have been operating with very tight margins.

This is part of the conglomerate that is about to launch a service to take the super rich into space for a short while. It is also in talks with the aviation industry, as well as NASA and the ESA, about building a supersonic plane able to fly in the upper atmosphere from London to Sydney in under five hours - other long-haul routes are available - but also only for the super rich.

It's a company that likes taking many a customers' money and State handouts, but is not so keen on paying back what it owes. I avoid all things "Virgin" like the plague.
