Blimey Kaz!

I think we were lucky here, a lot of people on the other side of the village have posted saying that the big flash and bang which shook our car while we were driving back has caused damage to electrical equipment like TVs, Sky boxes and routers.

The mad thing is that the South side of Gloucester didn't get the hail or rain, just the wind! We're slightly NE of the city.....

That storm I drove through missed our home entirely Kaz. They just got a fair amount of rain at home. I got all the fun.

It was scary here yesterday afternoon :?

We had a storm, quite a brief one with a couple of flashes of lightning, a few loud rumbles of thunder and very heavy rain but it wreaked havoc and unfortunately a couple of houses locally were struck by lightning, one being on the small estate on the other side of the A34 to us and the other a mile or so away on the edge of the Chase.

Much of the village lost phone and internet, us included, and we didn’t have a strong enough mobile signal to get online or make a call. We walked Bill close to Midnight though and Openreach were working in several places and it was back on this morning.

This is the house over the way (not asking for donations btw, but the local paper hasn’t picked up on it so this is the only thing online) and it’s heartwarming to see how the local community has pulled together so quickly to help the young couple. It says that they have insurance but their baby is due in 3 weeks, everything for the baby has been destroyed and will need to be replaced quickly, over £3000 has been raised overnight
