Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 28 Aug 2020, 05:02

Good morning.

The only negative thing about visiting loved ones is when the visit comes to an end and you have to say cheerio to them. :(

Which is what I'll be doing to Craig tonight at 6pm when I get the train back to Glasgow.

I'll be happy to see dad again though. Five days have zoomed by and he said he's missed me and looking forward to seeing me....the feeling is mutual. :)

Going out for lunch with Craig and Lani before we head up to Leeds for said 6pm train.
James taxi driver will be waiting at Bellshill to take me home to dad's.
I could walk it in 15 mins....but don't want to.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Cloudy and cool this morning, bit blowy too. In fact, we'll be about 6C down from yesterday. Bliss 8-)

Will do the watering once we've had the first coffee then attack the housework. Grumpy will be making the legs for the new tables.

Other than that, will see what the day brings.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning :D

Ally, safe travels - enjoy your lunch and seeing your dad again :) I admit getting a taxi from the station on Wednesday, I sat on the train and thought "I can walk home in 25 minutes, or I can get the bus, or I can get a cab....." It was £ 6 well spent ;) xx

Jan the cooler weather must be a bit of a relief! Enjoy 8-) xx

I was going to have a lazy day today but I think I need a long walk to exercise off the huge slice of chocolate cake I ate round D's last night  We popped round to collect the huge bag of goodies from Jeff's allotment that he bought with him from Weymouth! They're spending the Bank Holiday weekend up here, it was great to see him and Jayne for the first time since March 8-)

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning you two, morning all

Woke up to rain, but thankfully it seems to have stopped now. We had sooooo much rain yesterday it wasn't funny and really not pleasant driving on semi flooded roads.

Ally, the time has flown by again - wow! But it will be lovely to have more time with your dad. Every so often posts remind me of one of my favourite sayings; and your post today was one of them...
"A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.”

Jan, enjoy the cooler weather, you're probably still a good 10 or more degrees warmer than here though :D

Kaz, you've had a wonderful week of catching up with people - what fun. And enjoy the goodies; what did they give you? Enjoy the walk if you get to it (ie the weather holds your neck of the woods)

Not sure what today will bring. General pootling around the house in between the usual work. I'll definitely be baking some bread as I've run out and sorting out more beans to go into the freezer. I've already got 2kg in there, plus another 2 in the fridge to top/tail and then portion and freeze. I'm hoping it stays dry enough so I can get to the allotment and check on things and harvest the last of the beans (probably another 2kg  ) and also see if there are any more tomatoes I can pick and make into sauce. And possibly head over to Karl and Nadine this evening, but not sure yet.

Oh, and we also had a confirmation via email last night that our offices, globally, will officially remain closed until January 2021 at least and things will be re-evaluated then. As our London office is quite a bit smaller we have a bit more flexibility as we still have two people going in regularly as they prefer working from the office but they sit quite far apart and generally just crack on when they get in and don't spend hours in the kitchen talking. I'll continue with my once a week / every 10 day trip in but that'll be it - and can't say I'm not happy. Not having to commute for 3 hours a day is amazing. And best is that come January 2021 and the offices do reopen people will be allowed to work from home as and when they have to / want to. The company doesn't care where they they are as long as the job is done as it should be. Definitely a very different new normal coming up for us work wise.

Well time to sort emails, give the chickens some veg, 2nd cuppa and breakfast and then pootle

have a lovely day all - happy Friday x

Oh Ria....thank you for reminding me of that saying. It's so lovely.

When you said it to me on Tuesday it brought a lump to my throat. xx

I've had the best time with Craig and last night when he said how much he loved being with me, loved my company and how much I make him laugh made me so happy. I feel exactly the same. :D

Oh god, it is such a miserable day, strong wind and heavy rain. The golf course is closed so Edward won’t be going out. I am going to the gym at 12.30 but then it’s back home for the day. The rain is supposed to stop in the afternoon, we shall see. I *could* clean the house but don’t feel inclined to. Reading and knitting are much more attractive ;)

Good morning everybody,

Cloudy and rain is forecast.
Having a relaxing day. The new garage door was fitted yesterday. Father & son arrived at 8.00 a.m. Took the old door off. It was nearly 4.00 p.m before
they finally finished and cleaned up. Took all the rubbish away in the van. Will be coming back to fit a smallpiece of beeding on the top of the plastic board above the door and a rubber strip attached to the flor so there is no gap between the door and the floor.
It already is warmer in the garage as there is insulation between the inner & outer panels and no gaps between the door and the frame.
A friend came round last night and we had a few drinks. Emptied a bottle of a good malt whiskey.
My apologies for using full stops but that was how I was taught to end a sentence.
Have a good day everybody.

Morning all......almost

One minute heavy rain, the next sunshine :?

It's washing day, Sainsbury's this afternoon. Just checked my e-mails and they say everything ordered is being delivered, that's the 3rd week running 8-)

M&S start food delivery via Ocado on 1st Sept. I've managed to get a slot for the first day, ridiculously excited, haven't been able to shop there since March :D :D :D

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx
