Afternoon all :D

Sorry I didn't get in here yesterday, poor E was having a really bad day. The aspirated fluid tests show there is infection and he was told he's likely to be there for another 5 days at least. As you can imagine he was really upset, not just the worry that his old condition had come back, but also the thought of being kept in a dementia ward where he's not getting proper sleep. Someone seems to kick off every night, all very sad for the sufferers, but getting more and more difficult for E to cope with. Anyway one of their top ortho consultants visited him and is now taking control. He's arranging xrays and a MRI and has taken him off the antibiotics that don't seem to be helping. He also said E must be transferred to an orthopedic ward asap.

His temperature is still up which is to be expected but he's a bit brighter today, still in the same ward, but hopefully not for much longer. He overheard the staff talking during changeover, it sounds like the delay is because they're looking for a side room. Don't expect much will be happening regarding the xray etc, today's a weekend and very little gets done.

I've popped a casserole in the slow cooker, bit of a faff getting it ready, but it does two days dinner so worth the effort. No other plans.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, it’s a lovely day here although chilly, but very nice in the sun. Miss Osc collected me just after 9.30 and we went to my favourite shopping centre, Kellie came with us. We both needed to get stuff in Boots, and she got things in Next, where I also got a few ideas for Kellie’s birthday next month. We then got coffee/green tea/juice and found a sunny spot outside. Miss Osc and hubby went to look at a house when we got back but I think they were a bit underwhelmed by it. No plan for the rest of the day.

Oh dear Jen, it just goes on and on for E, doesn't it.

Really hope they can get him into a proper ward today and he can at least get a better nights sleep.

Oh gosh that sounds awful Jen - I hope E gets moved to his own room, at least he'd get the chance of sleep!!

I keep thinking we’re all on the tighter restrictions and wonder how people are meeting friends for coffee

I’ve taken myself off to Arnison centre this morning just for a drive out while Tom worked the farm. It started off lovely but we’ve since had showers and it’s windy again. Bright enough in the conservatory now as it’s west facing. Costa busy this morning, but I snuck a latte and toasted tea cake in.

Durham is mad busy today, return of the students. Jens working all weekend at the uni, I’m so worried as we’re in a high risk area (Tom got the t&t app, I haven’t yet).

Think D and the kids are calling to stand in the garden this aft. It’s daft really, we could all go to a cafe or pub and sit at different tables but they can’t come in the house. I don’t understand the logic. D was texting Tom last night complaining that only owners can go to the caravan- like it’s his fault!! I’m quietly over the moon about it, everything will be where I left it next time we’re there!! B)

Have a good day everyone xx

Afternoon everyone :)

I went to SW first thing - no loss, but no gain either - then Mick and I went to Corretto's for brunch. Becky's working - Mick took her in as Holly is still isolating until her brother's results come back. Then we went to see D, she's fine if a bit worried about this damned flu-jab business (detail on the NHS App thread) :? Came home to chaos, the catch on the lid of the kitchen bin had failed, so the lid had popped up and the dogs couldn't resist it - rubbish all over the kitchen floor!  So we had that to pick up and I steamed the floor before I could sit down with the paper and a cuppa - but the supplements were missing out of the middle, along with my codeword puzzle   :cute:  Clearly not my day...... :P
