I dont see Boris in No 10 long term. I think his boisterous constitution has been weakened badly by his illness and may take many months to recover. There have been horrendous mistakes made by the Government but to be fair, no Prime Minister in living memory has ever faced such a catastrophe with weeks of taking office. The whole of the blame seems to have landed on the head of Boris which I think is grossly unfair. I hope, as promised, he does get Brexit done. It may be his salvation but I am not holding my breath.

Whether Kier Starmer will get to No 10 I am not sure. He is a better bet than Jeremy Corbyn who never really materialised as a leader of the Labour Party but the Left may take a different view.

Bless! Except that after years of plotting against May he became PM in July 2019 when Covid-19 was not even on the horizon. When it hit it gave no PM, President or any other type of leader anywhere in the world the blueprint for the best way to react. The Johnson was not unique, he was one of many.

When it did hit what he (and his yes-[wo]man government) did, and have done, is wholly owned by him and them. Remember the gloating over the 80 seat majority? Well BoJoke and his band of incompetents are running the show and everything is down to them. He and they make the decisions. Where we are now is down to them.

And the public who don't like him, aided by the press and media who don't like him, are absolutely wonderful at second guessing his every action.

How good they would be, in the same place, is debatable.

Then, let us remember, Westminster, for health, is only responsible for England. Yet, unsurprisingly, the "government" gets the blame for every UK health mistake.

SKS is worth ten of Boris. He's a completely self-made man, of impeccable reputation. Boris is a proven liar, an adulterer, with a very chequered history. This government is a joke, and we are becoming a laughing stock on the world stage. Spin it how you like, those are facts.

Unfortunately Starmer's time as DPP has made him unpopular with the likes of Liberty, Amnesty, the Police Federation and some on the left of the party, and I do not mean the Momentum left. It is also the case that he does not come across as an inspirational leader. That should not really matter, but in these 'populist' times it does - personality beats competence hands down, or so it seems.
