Yes, Bovington Tank Museum is quite an attraction, and it's also near Monkey World so you can make a good day out of it. I'm not sure why Bovington is being used for these night flying exercises, though as it's not a regular base.

When I was at school we where at blandford dad in the army


Royal Signals, Saundra? :D Blandford Camp is still going and I think there's a regimental museum there although we've not actually visited it. We did go up the top of Bulbarrow Hill near there last year and there were a number of squaddies in bivouacs with radio equipment all trying to contact each other!

No my dad was in the REME ossie
In burma in the later part of the war Them to tidworth

Then blandford and finally in arborfield as a RSM
Left the army after 22years did a few jobs after that all to do with the forces in various ways

Just had a message from D to say iona stepmum who lives in America has died this morning
She had cancer but I don't know if that was the cause
They breed welsh ponies and are well known in America and Wales not a place you can just get on a plane to visit at the moment we need good news at the moment don't we sigh

Think we have two, hopefully three, more days of using the pool. The water has gone down to 24C - that's blasted cold :roll: :lol:

Good for you!

We have tried to get one, but none left at our local chemist and our surgery says only people 65+ or with a chronic illness can have them. I'd phoned last week and then later the same day I got a letter from our council (!!) advising me to get one, and outlining what category I would fall in. November is the soonest I can get it.
