I got D's jab sorted I popped into the surgery to drop off her prescription request and make a routine nurse's appointment for myself, and decided to ask about it. I was firm but didn't get shirty at all, just explained she is 84, a COPD patient, and suddenly they had a slot available on Saturday morning

I do think it depends who you speak to as well. I remember when Joe was coming up to having his surgery and he had to have some vaccinations at least two weeks beforehand and we just had enough time to organise them after seeing the surgeon and being given the go ahead for a month later. I spoke to one of the receptionists at the GPs and according to her it just wasn’t possible to get him vaccinated in time. Phoned again and spoke to a different receptionist who booked him straight in for a few days later, no problem whatsoever.

MrsC woke up in the night and couldn't get back to sleep. Looking out of a window she saw one of our neighbours, David, looking in people's bins with a torch!
It was 4.15 am.
I think it's pretty clear he has some sort of problem. He's done this before, looking in bins left out for the binmen, but not in the middle of the night.

On similar lines my neighbour, Dave, gets itchy fingers whenever he is near a skip. He cannot resist the urge to get in there and have a good rootle about. It must be a thing with some people.

since we started doing flu vacs in the middle of September we have done over 700

Well hopefully 84 year old COPD patients were made a priority at your surgery then, as they weren't at ours until I intervened.....
