Sunny and forecast 25 degrees.

The twins came over Friday evening and we had a lovely day with them yesterday.

I'm off for a good stomp shortly then later will have this year's final swim.

Roast chicken, wedges and salad for dinner along with a nice relaxing day.

After being on the move since Friday sis should get to dad's early afternoon.

Bit spooky though. We can hear the cow bells in the field next door, but can't see them

A gentle day with a bbq later. Can't be bothered to do the cleaning I didn't do yesterday, might do it tomorrow. Not as though it's a dirty house, just a little dusty in places

It is raining again. Going shopping at Tesco again. Will then just relax and watch TV. Can't do much else as we will soon be in another lock down.

Morning all, it’s dull out there and looks like rain. No plan for the day, except to change the bed. Knitting and reading after that although maybe a walk around the block before the rain comes. We had a nice Halloween time with Miss Osc and family yesterday evening, they called here around 5.30pm and we had some trick-or-treat stuff for them. Then we all walked across to the Martello Tower to see the Halloween images being projected on to it. Plenty of people there but everyone being careful about social distancing, and there was a lovely family atmosphere. From that vantage point we could see fireworks going off all over the city as it was a nice clear evening.

We had very few trick or treaters last night, mind you the weather wouldn't help.
Son and his gf are on holiday are on holiday in Northumberland and have sent us some photos of Alnmouth, Bamborough Castle and a very atmospheric one of Low Newton by the sea.
Daughter and MrsC took Eliza to Lidl yesterday and she kept trying to put stuff in the trolley! When they turned round once she was walking down the aisle clutching a huge doll!
After a grey and horrible start to the day the sky is now clearing and we have sunshine.

Good morning all, we’re just back from a bracing walk on Hednesford Hills.

John’s now gone for a bike ride before lunch and Tom’s doing some work. I’ve got some washing on the line which will hopefully dry before the forecast rain starts, then it can be ironed. I’m going to prepare a cottage pie for lunch.

We had a envelope through the door last night, I thought it was a circular at first but it was a lovely notecard from our new neighbours. They wanted to introduce themselves but said that going around and knocking on doors isn’t the best idea at the moment. They also said not to be alarmed if we notice ambulances and paramedic cars there regularly as she’s a specialist nurse and works 21 hour on call shifts so for safety reasons due to her long hours she’s not allowed to drive while on shift so is picked up and dropped off. We’d noticed her being dropped off by a paramedic car a few times and assumed that was what her job was. They’ve also put their mobile numbers and have offered help if anyone needs anything due to having to isolate, they’ve now been added to the neighbourhood WhatsApp group and have asked to be involved in the Christmas lights thing we’re planning so we’re up to 11 houses now

Morning all.......almost

Bright with ominous clouds overhead.

It was so lovely seeing Z,M and the boys yesterday. Can't believe how much the boys have grown since February. They didn't attempt the walk to the beach, not long after they arrived we had a heavy downpour. It was still raining when they went home a few hours later. Z was planning to come down again one weekend before Christmas, but with the new lockdown that probably won't happen. Providing it's over in time, they will be spending the day after Boxing Day with us.

Feeling extra tired today, E's been waking up a bit earlier the last couple of days. He's not used to lying on his back, but turning over is still excruciating so once he's fully awake he finds it difficult to get comfortable. Since getting home he's been going to bed quite a bit earlier than me, I'm a night owl and struggle to get off to sleep much before 1am. That's still too late for him, but I think it might help if he stays up for an extra hour, it's worth a try.

Intend to have a quiet, lazy day. Roast chicken and veg for dinner later, strawberry blancmange with blackcurrant jelly for pud.

Hello all and happy Sunday

Been a busy(ish) day doing all sorts of little bits and bobs; three loads of washing, booked online shopping slots for my neighbour, myself and work - can you believe Sainsbury's already only has delivery slots a week away if you're not on a delivery pass, and if on a delivery pass then it's 5 days away. Madness. My brother, daft bugger that he is (and yes; he is one of the "I better get to the shop before everyone else empties the shelf" kind of person) was queueing this morning before the shop opened - but bless him; he did call and ask if I needed anything. Another friend had to go into town and she said it was chaos - all shops opened at least an hour earlier than normal and sooooo many people.

Dropped off eggs for another friend, popped round to the allotment to check on things; back home and made soup and now about to leave the house to go to Karl and Nadine's for roast dinner.
