Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 05 Nov 2020, 05:51

Good morning.

It very rarely gets windy here in the Guadalorce valley but it was very windy through the night...it actually woke me up. It's not raining at the moment but showers are forecast till 3pm. Weird as it was like a summer day yesterday. We do really need the rain though so all good.

Full day of work for me covering A (she should be back Monday) then I'm meeting Don for a beer and a bite to eat.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Dry at the moment, but we had rain during the night and more to come :Hi: Like Ally, not complaining, as we really need it.

Will just have to dodge the showers, as we go shopping today - yes, more money    Also pop into the chemist with a prescription which they have to order. I'll collect it net week, although they are really good, and it will arrive tomorrow :D

Back to do not a lot. That was a lot of walking and shopping yesterday and I need to rest

Our friend, who tested positive for the virus, sent me a message yesterday to say that her husband also he's it. He's 80, so I really hope it's not too bad for him.

Also thinking of my very good friend, who did something very stupid yesterday, Some of you may know her as Schooldinners. She's really been struggling through all of this. Her husband and son are here in Portugal and she and her daughter are in England. Very difficult.

Have as good a day as you can everyone xx

Morning you two, morning everyone

A very misty and nippy start to the day today. Went into the office yesterday and had to scrape ice off the windscreen, and this morning another early start to help a friend out; which meant another morning of scraping ice - brrrrr. My friends oven / cooker (whatever you call it) broke the other day; the heating element went. She managed to get a replacement part and an enginner could come out this morning to fit it; but she works in a dental practice and can't take the time off so I offered to go to her house and wait for her there. Bless the engineeer, he knew I was going there just for him so he made sure I was his first call out at 8.30; so 9am I was back in my own warm house. My friend has no heating at the moment either - so her house is absolutely freezing; I'm so glad I didn't have to hang around there until midday! :D

Ally, fingers crossed you get some rain; enjoy that beer and bite to eat this evening
Jan, hope your friend Schooldinners is OK? It's really tough for quite a few people at the moment. And also hope your other friends' husband is OK - it's an odd virus; some elderly really get hit hard but many seem to shrug it off without any ill effect. At the moment this 2nd wave seems to be getting more younger people

Usual work for me with not much interesting news to report

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s fairly miserable here, that heavy drizzle that soaks you through. Usual Thursday with Michael and Kellie here later. In the meantime, we are awaiting our supermarket delivery and I want to clean the downstairs bathroom. I cleared all the ironing yesterday so that’s out of the way till the next lot, I felt quite virtuous

Good morning all, it’s sunny and cold - my perfect kind of morning!

I’m another feeling virtuous, had a long walk with Bill and then went for a run. I’ve already covered almost 6 miles at just gone 10am. I’ve changed the beds so the machine’s on and we’ve got a couple of deliveries coming sometime today. Hopefully we can get out onto Hednesford Hills later while it’s still daylight and before the fireworks start. I cleared out one of the under stairs cupboards last night for Bill to sit in and I cut the part of the placket off one of Tom’s old shirts and sprayed it with the calming spray I use and tied it to his collar, it looked like he was wearing a bow tie. Totally for got to remove it and didn’t notice until we were nearly home this morning - he looked very dapper on his walk

Jan I remember the name - hope everything’s okay with your friend, and that your other friends aren’t badly affected.

Ria, that’s excellent service from the engineer!

Have a good day all :)

Bright, sunny, but very chilly! Went to Sainsbury's with D this morning, back by twelve and have done the cleaning, and washed the cushion covers - just waiting for them to dry. Poor B is at the dentist's again after work

Love to all xxx
