Postby Ally » 07 Jan 2021, 06:37

Good morning.

We have rain. It rained yesterday too...not torrents but the kind that just doesn't stop. It is VERY strange having grey skies when I was in shorts and a T on Tuesday.  Set to last till Monday but it's very much needed so bring it on.

Back to work this morning for my two classes then meeting a friend for coffee and a pitufo. :D

Work 4 - 7 then home to a chicken tray bake. :D

Have a great day. x

Morning <Ally, morning everyone

Not as cold this morning and no frost :Hi: Very grey and gloomy though. We're supposed to have rain, but yesterday's didn't arrive, so will wait and see.

Ironing pile awaits me this morning.

Stew for dinner and that's about my day

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning all, it’s a frosty and foggy one here.

The pavements going around the corner to the common were treacherous when we walked Bill first thing but at least the mud in the woods was frozen solid.

I’m waiting for a couple of deliveries. Apparently Royal Mail are bringing a parcel today (I’ll believe that when I see it) and there’s a possibility of the Amazon parcel arriving which should’ve been delivered yesterday. The status has changed from it arriving before 10pm last night to saying that it should arrive in the next couple of days but if not you can have a refund on Saturday.

Stew sounds ideal Jan! We’re having jacket potatoes tonight.

Have a good day all :)

morning you three, morning everyone

Ally, glad you got rain - as you say, much needed so fingers crossed it does rain through to Monday
Jan, agree with Jo - stew sounds good.
Jo, Royal Mail seem to be having loads of issues at the moment. I had an envelope sent to me on the 30th December and it only arrived on Monday. Another envelope posted Monday arrived Tuesday; both sent first class. It really is hit and miss with them at the moment. But I suppose the sorting centres and delivery service most likely have been quite affected by C-19 related absences as well and they're struggling to keep on top of things. Just grateful that we are still getting post.

Well my day yesterday turned out different than planned and nothing Christmassy related was removed at all  so this morning I've cleared everything from the dining / kitchen and bathroom areas and everything is now in the lounge. This afternoon, after our weekly office call, I'll sort through everything and pack it away; but at least it's all in one place and easier to figure out what to put where. I want to keep 'advent' type things separate to tree decorations as they tend to come out at least 2 weeks earlier. and this year it was all a jumble in the boxes.

Weather here is just dull - but at least it's dry which makes a pleasant change.

Have a lovely day all x

Ria, Royal Mail are hit and miss in this area even at normal times! For some years now it’s been usual to go up to a week without seeing a postman and then getting everything at once. That was even happening when we were at our old address and we moved from there 10 years ago this month.

Good morning everybody.
Had to defrost the car before taking rubbish to the dump which would not go in the bins. I was first in the queue when it opened at 9.00 a.m.
You have to show proof of residence such as Council tax statement with your name and address on before you are allowed into the site.
It has started to snow here again so the road and pavement which were clear ae now white.
Not going out again today
Had a phone call from our son who lives in Kent. He is still working as he in the IT business connected to a Japanese company.
He said Royal Mail are not picking up business post and they are only getting one selivery each week at home. Oue delveries are not regular. Have had 1st Class
delivered the follwing day and some taking more than a week. Depends where it was posted.
Have a good day everybody.

Blasted cold here

We met Sergio, the electrician down at the nice neighbours house to find out why they have no electric. They had a small fire, in the solar house :o   So that's one converter burnt out. He very kindly sorted it all out for us and disconnected the solar and t hey now have mains only electric.

I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

Think solar is sometimes more trouble that it's worth. But every-one along our track had to have it, as there wasn't any mains electric.

jeez, how close is the solar house to the main house - just as well they're strong brick built buildings. That could have been a horrendous accident
