Good Morning Saturday

Postby JanB » 16 Jan 2021, 08:13

Morning everyone

Thick fog this morning. Hopefully, the sun is work it's way through and it will get warmer. Rather chilly at the moment.

I will do the cleaning I didn't bother with yesterday  will also make some flat bread. If the weather does improve, I'd like to do some weeding Probably on the drive, as the flower beds are still a little too wet. I did some yesterday, but spent more time shaking off the soil than weeding

Hope Ally's friend had a good night and all went well x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning, another rainy one here.

The ironing is done and that’s about all I had planned inside for today. It’s forecast to stop raining a little later so hopefully we can get out for a walk then.

I’ve got an Amazon delivery coming, just a pair of scissors but they need to see ID so I’ll have to work a walk around that if we have an idea of when it’s coming. We’ve also got to take my Dad for his first vaccination, his appointment is at 5 at a hotel down by junction 11 of the M6. My Mom’s got an appointment for Tuesday but my Aunty Dor has her appointment half an hour before so she’s going to pick her up.

Vibes for Ally’s friend, I hope all went well x

Have a good day :)

Morning all.

Just had a sobering SW meeting, one of the regular members who lives just around the corner from us was very upset. She works in our Sainsbury's and had just had some terrible news. One of her workmates, a 38 year old man perfectly healthy, went off work on Monday with a stomach upset. Rang work Tuesday to say he'd had a positive Covid test, and he died on Wednesday of Covid. Absolutely horrible, and far too close to home for comfort :( Another lady had been unable to travel to Northumberland for her dad's funeral, and had attended online :(

Jan, I hope the weather clears up for you xxx

Glad to hear your mum and dad have their jabs booked Jo :) xxx

Sorry to be on such a downer everyone, I'll pick up a bit later no doubt, after food shopping and seeing D. I've missed her :) Take care all of you xxxx

Awful news Kaz.

Not pleasant here today. I’ve been out for a wet walk with Millie, done my food shopping and a few jobs round the house and now I intend to do nothing for the rest of the day.

L is off for her vaccine this evening.

Such sad news Kaz

Been a gorgeous day and was sat on the drive, happily weeding, when my phone rang. A very undignified struggle to get up

Gabi is coming up today to collect the car, for it's annual service, check over and mot. I've just cleaned inside, Grumpy is now doing the outside. New rule came into force, that they will fail a car if it's dirty

Afternoon all, it’s an ok day weather wise and we got out for a walk earlier - not too long though as I tweaked my back yesterday and am moving a bit gingerly, but we had some packing material to deliver to Miss Osc so we did a “round the block” including passing her house. They were also out for a walk so we didn’t see them.

Back to do not very much for the rest of the day, of course Edward has plenty of sport to watch.

Oh Kaz, that's so sad. I know we have had a few instances, especially Tom, of some of his service users who have passed away of Covid. Makes me worry for his safety - although he's now had his first vaccine this past week so I have everything crossed he stays well.

Well we're selling the caravan if anyone wants it!! :) We feel we're not able to use it enough, Mon-Fri it stands empty and given the fact we've had less chance to use it than ever in 2020, we're going to use the money for different breaks.....it's Tom's decision but I'm supportive of it.

Work this morning, quiet. I think this lockdown is affecting people more than the November one, people are scared to attend this time around. So finished at 12.30, T picked me up and we went for a takeout latte and scone at our fav cafe....and THEN we decided to go for a walk! The walk was snowy and/or wet in parts so luckily we both had wellies in the car, nothing else would have been suitable. Bonus - I got to see (and hear - the noise!!) a couple of trains at close quarters and the scenery was as always, stunning. We started with grey skies this morning, but by mid morning the sun had appeared and this held out during our walk - we did a long walk round the villages yesterday, over 6 miles, but today was at best, two. Still, better than nothing.

Enjoy the rest of the day xx
