Off for a walk shortly. :D

At the moment Saturday afternoon is our Friday night  so we'll go to Gambrinus again for a few beers, lunch and a good old sit in the sun.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Dull start and going to rain this afternoon

No car, and no message so not a clue. There is a national no travel out of your district since last night, for the week-end, so not sure that bringing a car back will constitute work or medical emergency. Although he might say work, as it is, in a way

A friend needs some work that only Grumpy can do - he has the tools and knowledge. If the car gets back, we can go and do that and will check the post too.

it's Saturday, so it's curry night 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Ally and Jan; morning all

Enjoy your FriSaturday Ally - and definitely enjoy the warm sunshine; something we can only but dream of at the moment :D
That's annoying re the car Jan; but I definitely think you could consider it a combination of work and potential medical emergency given your recent health issues - you really shouldn't be without a car longer than you need to. Enjoy the curry tonight

I'm about to head off to run a few erands. First stop will be dropping off a little hedgehog at Wildlife Aid in Leatherhead. I caught it on the wildlife camera the other day and last night I was about to go to bed when I saw this little one outside the back doors. Quickly nabbed it (ouch, they're prickly) and weighed it; only 410gr so far too small to survive the rest of the winter. So popped him in a hutch with food, water and bedding and he'll go for overwintering to the rescue. Then to the chicken supply store for a few things and then groceries for me... Feels like almost a normal weekend day :D

Weather for now is dry but cold; I really need to spend the afternoon tidying the greenhouse.

Have a lovely day all x

Afternoon all :D

Dry and a bit dull, but the sun keeps trying to pop out.

Glad you've had news about the car Jan, I agree with Ria, you really shouldn't be without it just now.

Absolutely nothing planned here either. Well for what's left of the day anyway, we slept in longer than usual this morning, still playing catch up

Hope you all have a good day, stay warm and safe xx

Good afternoon all. Very cold here atm Ally, 1c, but sunny.
Good news about the car Jan. Ria, that's a lovely thing to do.Same here Jen; we've got our paper and a top up for MrsC's phone and that's us done for the day.
Pizza tonight. Hopefully daughter and her clan are coming for dinner tomorrow but it isn't certain.
Have a good day all.

Good afternoon everybody.
We had snow this morning so everything was white. Went to Tesco for some shopping. Was going to the bank but didn't fancy walking in the snow.
Some drivers had just got in their cars and used the windscreen wipers to try and clear the snow. I have a tool with a small brush at one end and a scrapper at the other.
Can reach right across the windscreen and roof to clear the snow.

We now have lots of blue skiy and the snow is melting. Frost id forecast for tonight. Bring on the sunshine!!
Have a good d ay everybody.

Afternoon :)

A pleasant day so far :) SW meeting went well, then we picked up a takeaway drink at Correttos and walked round the Dock basin, looking at the boats in the sunshine 8-) Up to D's after that, and we've just got home. The weather is very cold and frosty, and snow is forecast for tomorrow - brrrrr! Still, it's an improvement on the incessant rain :cute:

Take care everyone :) xx

Afternoon all, a gorgeous sunny day here but extreeeemly cold brrrrrr. We were up and out early and were over in Miss Osc’s new home by 10.15am. The main bedroom had built in units with bedside shelves, a long dressing table with drawers and shelves and a wardrobe, around three sides of the room. The vendors obviously had a standard 5ft 6in bed and even so there would not have been a lot of room to move. Miss Osc’s bed is a 6ft sleigh type bed and would not have fit. So we undertook to rip out all the built in units as I think Edward felt he wanted to do something practical for them before his op on Monday, and it went well. We had the house to ourselves for about an hour so real progress had been made by the time Miss Osc etc. arrived. There were various visitors, SIL’s brother and his family, then his father with two other grandchildren, we just stayed where we were and wore our masks. My sister came along too but she was there help out rather than sightsee!! Michael and Kellie had a great time showing their cousins around and it was really lovely to hear them playing in the garden. They won’t move in properly until next weekend.

We were home around 2pm tired but pleased with a job well done. Had a good long snooze in the chair! I said I would go back on Monday when I have left Edward into hospital and I will spend the day helping to clean as a distraction! We are so thrilled with the house, it will be such a lovely family home for them. No plan for what’s left of the day, just relaxing and watching telly.

It was VERY frosty last night resulting in a gorgeous blue sky day today, with a lot of frost! We met the kids at a nearby beauty spot and walked their dog with them down hills, and dales and then the obligatory MaccyDs for a treat! :D The views were stunning and it's always fun to spend time with them both - they are turning into lovely kids :)

It's Saturday so that means Chinese for tea.....I've stripped the bed and remade with fresh bedding, hoovered everywhere, and re-wired the new TalkTalk box with the cables we were sent. I did just use the originals at first, but we have to return the faulty one and it did have cables in the box when it arrived so...and also sorted out my next two weeks' meds into my little containers....not my favourite job!

My sister got her first jab today - she got the Oxford one. She said her friend, who'd had hers yesterday, had been sick in the night and hoped she didn't have the same reaction. I'm sure she'll be ok.

Take care all xxx
