Good Morning Monday

Postby JanB » 15 Feb 2021, 07:48

Morning everyone

a lovely sunrise and another lovely day 8-)

I'm going into Ourique this morning, to meet some-one with spare books :Hi: and also to see a friend, to see if she can help with the car tax. The reference I've been given is too long and I can't seem to pay it  As her husband works at Finances   that's where we used to pay.

Back for washing and weeding

Hope Cruiser and Mrs e are doing okay. Cruiser, see the doctor as soon as you can please x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning all, it’s much milder today and the early mist has started to clear.

We walked Bill and then I went for a run around the village. It’s the first time I’ve run since probably late November, when the paths started to get a bit icy first thing.

Tom’s on half term this week, Joe’s in work and John’s working here. The washing machine’s on and I’ll be able to stick the clothes outside on the line today for a change.

Cruiser, it’s good to see that Mrs E has got an appointment, sending my very best wishes to you both x

Enjoy your new books Jan x

Have a good day all x

Morning Jan and Cruiser; morning everyone

Jan, fingers crossed you get the tax sorted - and yay for some new books for you :D
Cruiser, how will you get Mrs E to the hospital; will you two cope on your own or can you contact the GP for community transport / help?
Jo, glad you managed to get out for that run. Lucky you that you can put your washing out - too wet here :(

Wet and grey here, but much much warmer than has been. Whatever ice was lingering has now gone and we're back to soggy muddy gardens. Did a bit more tidying in the greenhouse yesterday and installed two additional shelving units. They are specifically designed to bolt into the greenhouse structure and you can collapse them when they're no longer needed. I installed the first two last year and struggled so much so I was dreading these two and have been putting it off for ages. Well yesterday I decided to bite the bullet and it took me all of 10 mins for both     typical me.

About to go to Sainsbury's to pick up a few things and then back home for a quiet work day. It's a holiday in the US today no meetings to arrange - yay! :D

Have a lovely day all xx

Meriad,

We use a limosine. It is a husband and wife, which we used to take us to the airport when wewent on holiday.
There motto is "Taking nice people tp nice places."
They come to the door and gently put mrs.e in the car. Then at the hospital the park as close as possible to one of the entrances. I get a wheel chair and we are soon
inside the building. We do npt have to use lifts. It is just a long walk along a corridor with some turns.
Just the reverse going back. I use my mobi;e tolet the taxi know we will be coming out. The car parks are always full.
It is a very good service and would not want to useanybody else.

Morning all, it was lovely and sunny when we got up but has clouded over a bit now, however it is noticeably milder. We are taking Michael and Kellie for a walk this morning as they are on midterm break. Our government is trying hard to get the children back to school, and I really hope they do, as children are missing out on so much. Michael in particular is finding it hard without his friends and activities. He tries to keep in touch by email and playing FIFA online with them but it is not the same. When they were in school before Christmas, it was all very safe - there was a small cluster in one class which happened over the Halloween break so it worked out fine, but otherwise no problems. Right, better tidy around before we go out.

Cruiser, that limo service sounds great and means that you don’t have to worry about traffic or parking. Also because you have been using them for so long, they know you both well. We’ll all be thinking of Mrs.e on Sunday.

Morning all. It’s thick mist here.

I’m stuck at home until I get a (hopefully) negative Covid test. I do a lateral flow test twice a week and yesterday it came back with a very, very faint line on the positive. So I’ve got a test booked for later on this afternoon.

So Mick is also stuck at home - he’s currently in his workshop (aka the shed/dumping ground/freezer home) doing I don’t know what. I’m sat watching rubbish on tv abs doing my crochet.

Fortunately Lucy has been at Dans for the last week so she is just staying away until we know what my result is. She flits between ours abs Dans - I know, they aren’t supposed to. She usually spends a week at his and then home for a week. She also does twice weekly lateral flow tests so makes the move between houses the day she does one. I know she’s not supposed to move between houses but I also know she’d choose to stay at Dans if pushed to choose one place and I’m not ready to have her moving out yet. We (me, Mick and Dans mum) decided that as long as she was doing the lateral flow tests then we were ok with it. We all are essential workers who are out and about and in direct contact with people (apart from Dan who is with his cows) so could all pick it up from anywhere. I do think this whole lockdown is hardest on the 16 to 25 age group and for her mental health we decided to do what’s best for her rather than what’s right/wrong.

Oh and I’ve got on and off toothache so I’m grumpy!

I’ve got an appointment at the dentist next Friday to have 3 teeth out (including the hurty one) and have a new denture. I’m trying to put up with it as I’m worried if I go before next Friday to have this one out he might take the other two out as well and then I’ll be walking round like a toothless hillbilly!

It’s on and off and bearable at the moment.

Good morning all :)

Cruiser, I'm very glad to hear about the appointment for Mrs e, we'll all be wishing you well xxx

Jan, new books, great! :D xxx

Jo I have a towel wash on, and am considering pegging them out! What a change in the weather! :) xxx

Isn't that always the way, Ria? Glad it got done so easily  xxx

Osc, all this must be so hard for children :( xxx

Debih, good luck for the test, fingers crossed! Toothache is the worst, you'll feel much better after Friday. I have a partial denture, too, it fits really well, never had any trouble with it, although it felt really weird at first and I lisped for a few days :? (((x)))

The sun is out here, the rain yesterday - and it was torrential - seems to have broken the spell of freezing temps, and it's fairly Springlike 8-) :) I'm just waiting for the washing machine to finish, then I'll walk up to D's. Mick is back at his desk today. The loo is installed now in the ensuite, and the flooring and tiling done, so the rest can be finished in the evenings this week.

Stay safe everyone :) xxx
