More than half...

Postby Workingman » 24 Apr 2021, 16:32

... of us have had at least one Covid jab and 1/5 of us have now had both.

Let us hope that those figures do not lead to many of us behaving like chimps at a tea party - there will be some, though.

The predicted spike in cases and deaths following schools reopening did not happen and there is no upturn since the easing up started though there is still a week to go before we can have some certainty. If we can get to May 17th and the above metrics are still flat then a lot more things open up.

By that time we will have 40 million with first doses and about 17 million with second doses so the onus is on us to act responsibly.

Plenty of chimps jumping up and down in London this afternoon, and the South Wales Police have issued a series of dispersal orders to break up crowds in Cardiff, Barry and Swansea.

Doing as you are told is the thing taught today. To act responsibly you have to take responsibility for your own actions and this requires both knowledge and understanding.

Neither of which are compatible with just doing what you are told.

Very true Suff.
People who are sensible will go on being sensible, the pettifoggers who come up with barmy rules will be just as pathetic and the people who are daft will be daft. Perhaps very daft indeed if they have a drink inside them.
Lucky for us, the vaccines have and will mitigate the worst excesses. We'd be in a bad place without them.
