We shall see how it plays out. If Boris is stupid enough to make false statements about the funding for the refurbishment, publicly, then he will get his comeuppance.

But he never struck me as that stupid. So we can wait and see.

The interesting thing is that for 8 years he was Mayor of London. He worked hard, brought business to London, took decisions which the city needed and would have been re-elected again if he chose to run.

The Guardian, who have no love of the Tories or Boris, had no sleaze to put on him and were hard pushed to declaim his time as mayor. But you will have to set your search engine's time limits in order to find any articles which say anything other than Boris is sleazy, dishonest or a thoroughly disreputable character.

It seems that the advent of his leadership of the Brexit cause and his take over as PM have set all sides against him. Yes he's not his own best friend at times, but he held an office which is larger than many UK ministries in terms of budget and if there were real sleaze or lack of moral turpitude there would have been no effort spared to go after him. Especially as he was located in the very city that those reporters infest.

Now, I'm expected to believe, he has grown horns and cloven hooves in the last 2 years. Is he really any worse than many a MP in westminster? I don't know. What I do know is that there have been a whole room full of knives being sharpened for Boris for years now and there will be no end to the attempted bloodletting until he is gone.

That being said, if he was so daft as to tell a lie about public funds, or donations for the flat refurbishment, then he's going to pay a much higher price than is warranted.

After all Sturgeon lied her ass off and look at where she is right now!

Funny thing, scandals.

There wasn't half as much fuss over these decorations:-

Baroness Scotland, Secretary of the Commonwealth. Grace and favour Mayfair flat decorations. Cost? £338,622. Bill paid by taxpayer.

Michael Martin (Speaker of the House of Commons). Speaker's House refurbishment 2000-2008. Cost? £724,000. Bill paid by taxpayer.

Derry Irvine, Lord Chancellor. Lord Chancellor's House, Palace of Westminster. 1998. Cost? £650,000. Bill paid by taxpayer.

Then. Boris Johnson, PM. Flat in number 10 Downing Street. Cost? £58,000. Bill paid by Boris Johnson (probably paying back the Tory donor who originally paid for this).

The first three were apparently OK. The last one apparently is a dreadful, awful, total scandal.
Rubbish. It's being used as a stick to beat Johnson with by the media, a calculated political attack because they don't like him or the government.

We have seen how the media can decide not to report some news, or to play down stories.
These is no fair news in this country, they are all pushing an agenda.

Johnson is a twice sacked self-serving liar, charlatan, philanderer and cheat and I would have no problem in saying that to both his faces.

Well I won't argue on that one. What I want to know is why wasn't he in the dock from this before he got the PM position and why is it that these things are coming up now.

I've noticed a marked increase in tempo on "get Boris" since he set his climate targets.

Many see him as a loveable rogue, but it is all an act. I see him as a dangerous person. He has surrounded himself with the weakest of sycophants in government in order to drive his agendas.
