I've just read the letter again and I missed something

They hope to operate in thirteen weeks, but should other urgent cases come forward, then mine will be pushed back.

The other hospitals can do it within a five to six week time frame.

I'm inclined to wait but till chat with friends tomorrow.

Hope you're feeling okay WM xx

It's very difficult, Jan, I don't envy you your decision, but FWIW I think sometimes it's better to "get it done" than have it hanging over you, not least because of the inevitable "push backs" in operations.
Hopefully as Crommers says, your Portuguese friends will give you sound advice.

Think it's going to be wait and go to Portimao. It's only an hour and a half away, rather than four plus hours. never been up north and although I'd love to visit sometime, now is not the best of times ;)

Because they're near the previous surgery, the doc I saw said that it would be best to be very careful, as he didn't want me to see "any old surgeon" in Beja, if I had a problem and had to have emergency op.

So I'll talk to Brito, Mena and Joaquim tomorrow.

I would be opting for it to be done sooner, Jan, you often mention your discomfort and inability to do some things. There’s always a way to sort out the transport. Just bite the bullet, then you can explore options on the details.

Only moan because I'm so used to getting up and doing things Osc.

A few weeks isn't going to make that much difference, I hope. We'll see after tomorrow.

All decided. Lots of chats with friends over the last couple of days and especially this afternoon.

It's hot now, all the hard outside work is done, so I can just relax and enjoy the pool.

Portimao it is. Jan is very kindly taking me down next week, so we can sort out the paperwork. Her hubby actually told me not to be so stupid as to even think about going up north at the moment, due to the high levels of the virus.
