I can remember the days when if anyone had so much as a slice of garlic you could smell it on their breath from miles away and for days on end - kissing became impossible! ;) :lol:

Now it's in everything, well maybe not corn flakes or blueberry muffins, but you get the drift. :roll:

So where did the smell go?

Dunno, but I use it in most dishes. Trying to grow some - again :roll:

I wonder if it's down to the variety of garlic they market in the supermarkets these days - most seem to stock the large jumbo garlic and that's certainly milder. We do use it a fair bit.

Because of the Covid restrictions, Jan, we weren't able to get up the garden centre last autumn to buy any bulbs for planting. We have managed in the past to nurture them through for harvesting in the early summer, but I wouldn't say we've had wild success growing them; the cloves we've produced have been pretty small.
