I have thought about it and I am triggered alright.

For 17 and a bit months I have done my bit as a 2nd tier vulnerable person. In all that time I have been out on about 160 occasions and most of them (148 or so) have been my twice a week late night food shops.

Of the rest I went to the Brum meet on a quiet day in the early afternoon - table service - with a few known Covid-free friends from VV. I have visited my granddaughter on four occasions but only two indoors, two more garden birthdays, and I have had a few GP and hospital / clinic appointments. That's about it. The only other trips out have been my solitary walks round the local playing fields and cemetery in all weathers. I have not been on a bus or a train or to a café or restaurant or shopping centre or department store or beach.

It has been such good fun doing my bit for us all.

So do understand if I do not give a toss about the anti-vaxers. And please forgive me if I have not much more tolerance of those who choose to "refuse" to wear a mask when it makes hardly any difference to their precious lives. And yes I do understand the exceptions for those with a medical condition or when it is for a practical reason, as already mentioned in the thread.

I should not have to prove that I have been a good boy to become "unlocked fully", as you said, and I have already offered a solution to the unclean-unvaxed, but I have now modified it. Round the twots up and tattoo them in public in town squares and busy shopping centres. Make it like a game show - drum roll, "Martin Ackworth! COME ON DOWN"..."if this is your first tattoo Martin I can promise you it will hurt, really hurt." "Give it up everybody for the unvaxed Martin!"

If we go with Covid passports we might as well go the full hog and have comprehensive biometric ID cards and a matching RFID under the skin of your wrist for all over the age of 12. All problems solved.

The two are not the same and you know the two are not the same. One is a short term certification in order to get out of a global pandemic. The other is an overwhelming attempt for government to control every aspect of the lives of the public.

Putting the two in the same basket just obscures the truth. I don't like it any more than you do. But I don't like being locked down, didn't like having to watch my niece's funeral on youtube, not because we wouldn't have been able to get in, we WOULD have been in, but because we were not going to be irresponsible and travel. I don't like it that Mrs S had to cancel her Dexa scan appointment, which she needed because the doctors have cancelled her osteoporosis drugs until she has one. She is still waiting. I don't like the fact that I can't see my new granddaughter either.

There are lots of things I really, really, don't like. But a covid vax certificate is way low on the list.

Imagine how I feel about the resistance to a short term certification because it "infringes on peoples rights and freedoms". Really? What the hell does a lockdown do? With the authorities tracking where we drive amongst other things!

Covid certification is a step back to getting our rights back. As far as I can see, those who care most about our rights don't want to do that.

We will never agree on this terrible idea.

It will have no effect on the global pandemic.

It might only be temporary, but that's like asking "how long is a piece of string?"

And sure as eggs is eggs there will be hacked or lookalike versions of the app so that the unclean can make it appear that they are double jabbed. More things than paper can be faked.

Different positions I guess. It is more in my interest (work wise), that we don't have certs and travel and a "back to the office" culture. Or I'd have to go find somewhere to stay in Toronto for most of the month. I just don't look at the world that way.

Probably just have to agree to disagree.
