Aw come on WM, you expect the policy makers to make sense?

In a world where airline bag weights are limited because it is more important to employ enough women as baggage handlers, whether or not they are physically capable of doing the job, than to employ people who are "right" for the job?

Yet you complain that they will not look beyond the trees.

2.6bn of the people are the problem. But the remaining 5bn people are the opportunity to sell junk and grow companies owned by the nations of the 2.6bn.

Of course they don't want to see it.

I mentioned Marburg the other day and lo-and-behold a case crops up in Guinea with 150 contacts being monitored. Coincidence?

Well I shall tempt fate then. My DIL, with whom I share a birthday, has decided to arrange a party in the Highlands. Completely throwing our plans out of the window. We were booked for a German twinning event in Angouleme that weekend, something we've had to cancel. We will be flying into the UK, replacing Mrs S' car and heading up to Scotland after having seen our new Granddaughter and sorted a few things in England.

No end of things which can go wrong with those plans.....

We shall see. Especially how well the EU vaccine app and certification works. We're both double vaccinated and have the app. The £9 Ryanair flight becomes £20 as you get closer to the end of the school holidays and for two people, with cases, priority boarding, allocated seating.... Just under £150. Typical Ryanair. I haven't booked the return journey yet, we're deciding which crossing we are going to go with. Might be Harwich to Hoek van Holland, not sure yet.
