Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 13 Aug 2021, 05:56

Good morning.

Going in to Glasgow airport to meet Don. His flight lands at 11.05am.
I can't wait to see him!

Thanks to restrictions being lifted all he needed to do was have a covid test yesterday morning and he'll do a home test on day two.

Michele's husband Mark is driving up from Northampton today. He's been with his mum since him and sis arrived from France.
As dad's house only has the one bathroom Don and I have booked to stay in an apartment literally a five minute walk away in the town centre.
It makes sense and will give us a break with our hubbies.
Don had booked the flight ages ago in the hope of being able to be with me for my 60th birthday on Monday. If quarantine had still been in play he was just going to change flights for another time. He was due to fly home on the 19th but as that's now the day of the funeral he's now staying until the 22nd. We only booked the apartment till the 19th so will have to see if we can extend the stay or book something else.

Thank you for the beautiful flowers. Michele and I were very touched by your kindness.

Al xx

ETA I've managed to add 3 extra nights to the original booking.

Morning Ally and Cruiser, morning everyone

Ally, that'll be an emotional time at the airport for you x Glad you managed to extend your booking, that definitely makes it one less thing to worry about.
Cruiser, please send some sunshine here - it's meant to be sunny but don't think anyone reminded the sun that it should come out to play.

Another usual / usual for me - a quick run to Sainsbury's in a minute and to the pet shop to get some stuff for the chickens. Then home for usual work / pootling mix. Out to a friends for snacks and drinks this evening; a perfect way to end the week

Sending vibes to Jan for a speedy recovery and crossing fingers she is able to go home soon - she was saying the hospital is very loud :D

Have a lovely day all x

Good morning all.
Another lovely morning here with warm sunshine. I hope you get some sun soon Ria.
Cruiser I hope the car didn't cost you too much to get fixed.
That's good news Ally, I hope you have a lovely reunion with Don x
I need to fill my FAC renewal form in and start looking for a new chair. The ones we have now are pretty low.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, it’s a sunny and breezy one here.

Sending you lots of love Al, and wishing safe journeys to Don and Mark xx

Just waiting for the Tesco delivery. I think this is the first time I’ve sat down in the morning all week (although I should really be getting the bags ready and filling Bill’s Kong to keep him occupied.

John went for a meal with our friend Lee last night, He arrived while I was out with Bill and they walked over to the restaurant so I was watching out for them to come back so I could say hello before he got in his car and left. He came in instead and had a coffee and we all sat chatting, and I had a couple of huge hugs off him, it’s been SO long. It was lovely to see him ‘normally’.

I need to pop to Sainsbury's later for a soda stream gas bottle, hopefully they’ll have them in stock.

Have a good day all :D

Morning all, sun and cloud here. Edward has gone to play golf. I’m exhausted after our overnight in Wicklow - a bad night’s sleep on Tuesday night, another on Wednesday night due to a sudden emergence of reflux, last night as well. I rarely get it although I have some omprazole which are several years old. Still well within date, so I took one during the night and might take one regularly for a few days to settle things down. Our Wicklow overnight was quite busy, when we got there on Wednesday we brought Michael and Kellie to the lovely bookshop in Wicklow town, they love browsing and choosing books. Yesterday, Miss Osc asked me to bring Kellie to buy her school runners, so we had a girls outing which oddly enough included a visit to her favourite toy store ;) There is an awful lot of expensive rubbish for children now but thankfully I managed to direct her to some Lego, which she loves. The men were playing golf and when they were finished, we had a meal in the golf club. We came home straight after that and Miss Osc and family were also heading back home for a few nights, they will go back on Sunday to pack up and come home for good. Miss Osc loves it there and the children have great freedom, but she has been very busy with work and is looking forward to the children going back to school so she can settle back into her office routine. Now it’s head down and start looking forward to going on holiday on Saturday week :D

Ally, you will be so pleased to see Don and I’m glad you are going to have time with just the two of you.

Morning all...

Damp and a bit chilly here but looking to brighten up later.

Ally, have a good long hug with Don, it's been a while, for both you and Michele as well. xxx

It's a shopping day but there is not much to get. This last week or so I have been emptying the freezer of meals made yonks ago, some unknowns in there, so it is mainly fresh stuff for salads etc.

Apart from that there is not much else on.

Enjoy the day everyone,

Afternoon all :D

Yesterday we had a visit from Zoe and the boys, it was so lovely to see them, will pop a couple of piccies on the photo board. Can't believe how much they've grown over the past 18 months or so, feels like I was asleep while it was happening

Been having problems with my wifi, kept going off every few mins. The engineer has been here all morning and it looks good now, fingers crossed.

Hugs for Ally and family xx
Hope Jan is home soon and has a speedy recovery xx
