Thank you for all your good wishes and love, makes a difference.
Long story short, taken by ambulance to Beja Hospital in the early hours of Friday 6 August, with crippling stomach pain and huge vomiting. Stayed in urgençia, in their small ward there until the following Thursday, when it was decided that the op could wait no longer.
Yes, the hernia was done, but I also need a further op, in almost the same place, as two nodules, on either side of the previous scar had joined together and twisted the upper something or other, so everything I ate/drank, stayed in the upper part and very little got through to Gladys.
I actually had the same anesthetist I was going to have in Portimao and he was horrified I was still waiting.
But it's done now, cobbled together with string and staples. Not sore, just a little uncomfy and stuffed with wind.
Considering I didn't eat for almost two weeks, I only lost three kilos
I'm off to sleep in my own bed, without having a 6.00 wake-up
Thank you all again xx I'll play catch-up tomorrow
