Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 26 Aug 2021, 03:31

Good morning.

Set to be lovely and warm again.
It was so warm yesterday that the numerous trips to the skip we'd hired for outside the house resulted in evidence of t shirt and shorts lines.

The skip was delivered at 10am and apart from stopping to collect dad's ashes at 2pm we found ourselves working flat out from 7am to 4pm.

We'd rung the skip hire people who weren't sure if they could pick up the full skip until this morning.
We nipped out to the local recycling centre and Tesco and when we returned the skip had gone.
Excellent service.

As we've toiled three days on the bounce sis and I are taking a well deserved break today.
We're going retail shopping in Glasgow.

I'm no good at eating when faced with stressful situations and Don had said on his arrival I was looking thin. :?
I weighed myself yesterday on dad's non metric scales to discover I've lost 17lbs since I got here. :o

Hopefully as time goes on I'll get my appetite back and sis has suggested we try today with a spot of lunch in Argylle street at a place we enjoyed last year.

On the house front the estate agent rang yesterday to tell us they've had 21 enquiries about the house and viewings begin this Saturday.

Think that's all the news for the moment so wishing you all a nice day. X

Morning Ally, morning everyone

The sun earlier has disappeared and we now have thick mist  That will go sometime and we«ll have a lovely day again 8-)

Little and often with the eating Ally. Tempt your appetite with things you enjoy.

No pain whatsoever now :Hi: just a little pulling where the stitches etc where and the scar just feels a little tight. As soon as the infection goes, I'll be able to slap on a load of moisturiser, to keep it supple.

Gentle day today. I'm going to try and tempt my appetite by actually cooking  I've really struggled and am still struggling to eat  So tonight I'll do something chickeny, with mushrooms.

I'm also going to clean the bathroom, as I only gave it a waft over last week and Grumpy doesn't do it to my standard ;) (well, hotel trained and all that ;) )

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Ally, Jan.

Positive news from both of you , which is good to hear. Just keep on keeping on.

Ally, the 17 lbs you've lost... I think I have found it, and more!!!

Slightly misty but very muggy here but due to get sunshine to burn it off later in the morning.

The canopy is finally being replaced today - it's taken a while. So that's me stuck in again till it is completed.

Take care everyone and enjoy the day.

Good morning everybody.

The sun is out and it is getting warm. Have ben to Tesco. It was quiet. Now going to have a drink and then more gardening. There are still lots of weeds.
Ally, wish I could lose 17 lbs. I am trying to be good but I am not losing any weight.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all :D

Bit dull and overcast, but we've been promised sun later.

Good idea to have a day off Ally, it's not just the actual physical work, it's all the emotions involved xx
Glad there's no pain Jan, hope cooking something you really like will help your appetite.
Good luck with the canopy WM.

We were up at silly o'clock, I had to get the car to the garage first thing for a service and MOT. It's not been driven much this past year so hope it goes through smoothly. It should be ready for collection around lunch time.

The dishwasher man thinks the control panel panel is faulty. Makes sense as he checked it does fill and empty okay and a new sensor was fitted by the previous engineer. He sent a message through to order a new one and said it should be delivered within 2 days. I should get a call to arrange a time for it to be fitted, but to ring the office on Friday to chase it up if I haven't heard. It's all covered by the original fee so fingers crossed there are no hiccups. In the meantime he said to stick to 30min washes as it seems to cope with that okay.

Hope you all have a good day xx

it's rather warm now 8-)

Slight change of plan, had to go and get the dressing changed again  Different nurse, different technique and she didn't want to know Gladys  so sorted that out myself, just hope there's enough room for the back plate to stick. Back again tomorrow afternoon, for Carla, our family nurse who has mainly been looking after me, to check it all out, Although I must say, the scar looks much better this morning.

I've been told to ignore the cleaning and concentrate on cooking later

Grumpy is going to re-make the bed I've been using and hopefully, tonight will be my last night in there. I'm not sleeping well, so it makes sense to have seperate bedrooms at the moment.

So a lazy afternoon for me :Hi:

Hope Osc is having a fabulous time :D

Hello everyone :)

Ally, that's a lot of weight! Agreeing with the others, small amounts of tempting stuff. Enjoy your day out with M, you certainly deserve it (((((x)))))

Jan, I'm so glad you're feeling better! :D xxx

Frank, it's difficult not to comfort eat with everything that's gone on! Hope your canopy gets done xxx

Enjoy your gardening, Cruiser :) xxx

Hope the car passes, Jen! xxx

I've been to Sainsbury's with D, as usual on a Thursday. She's feeling down at the moment, as it's the 20th anniversary of my father-in-law's death this weekend. Mick's youngest brother and his wife are popping up tomorrow to see her (they couldn't make the get-together last week) so hopefully that will help. It's a stunning day here today, bright blue skies and a gentle breeze - a perfect late summer day 8-) Pilates tonight.

Take care everyone :) xxx
