Panic Buy of the Week!

Postby TheOstrich » 29 Sep 2021, 14:09

Forget fuel ..... it's FROZEN PEAS!

None in Aldi. only 2 bags left in Waitrose. I relieved them of 50% of their stocks ... :D

Anything conspicuously missing from your shelves?

Only Asda, Aldi and Morrisons are local to me and the only thing missing (Asda and Morrisons) is their own brand bottled water at 17p per 2ltr, but I have a tap so I'm not bothered. :P

Lots of gaps in the frozen food aisles, cereals, and ready meals. Some of the veg is a bit depleted too.

This is Sainsbury's, Barnwood, Gloucester.

Yup. Three months to go and the Quality Street, puds and crackers are all there. Panic buy, you know it makes (no) sense.

Mind you, there will still be a pigs in blankets crisis because, as we all know, us Brits cannot wrap a bit of streaky bacon round a sausage. It's a skilled job and all the Romanian p-i-b artisans have gone home. :D

the own brand sparkling water has been in very short supply for quite some time now; I usually grab four bottles when they have it - but more often than not the shelf is empty
