Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 20 Feb 2022, 07:30

Good morning.

That yellow thing in the sky is still lurking around. 8-)

We're going for a walk along the coast this morning. :D

Don's cooking dinner tonight and is choosing a recipe from Marion's Kitchen so that'll be something chickeny/Malaysian/spicy. :D

DOI tonight...see you later Kaz. ;)

Have a good day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely and sunny this morning, not a cloud in the sky, but a little chilly still.

Cooked breakfast for us this morning :Hi: A nice treat 8-)

Lucy is coming up this afternoon for a late lunch. Hoping we can sit outside. Knowing her, it will be in the sun, whilst we prefer not to be in the sun. There's only so much of it you can get  and eating with the sun on my head is not too special, especially in the winter. The Portuguese dislike the winter sun  Say it is bad for your head ;)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you-re doing xx

Good morning everybody.

It was raining when I went for the paper. It has stopped but there are still lots of grey clouds.
Just pootling today. May steam clean the cooker as there is grease on the hob.

Have a good day everybody

Morning all, sorry for the silence over the last week.

Tom kindly passed his cold onto me and I think having that and Covid in the space of 3 weeks really wiped me out. More of a sort throat and cough than a sneezy cold though, I even started testing again in case but no, just a normal virus. Thought I was over it last Saturday so dragged John off the subs bench as Joe’s reserve (as he was in Cornwall) and took him to the match and then slept much of Sunday. Went again, with Joe that time, on Tuesday night and went back to bed on Wednesday morning after walking Bill. Definitely definitely feel like I’m over the worst now though *touch wood*.

Anyway, it’s pouring down here. I need to go to Home Bargains shortly because I’m almost out of washing powder and I’ve got bedding waiting to be washed. There’s also a huge pile of ironing. It’s just me and John for lunch so I think I’ll make cottage pie. Tom’s at Shannon’s and Joe’s in Liverpool for the weekend celebrating his friend’s 21st birthday. He drove up as they didn’t want to rely on trains due to the weather.

First job though is to dry my hair, I had it cut yesterday and I’m just glad I didn’t pay for a wash and blow dry and just had a dry cut, I was soaked and windswept by the time I got home!

Al and Kaz, I’ve not been watching DOI but I’ve been catching up with Bez’s efforts on his Facebook page. He’s a legend in our house, me and John are big Happy Mondays fans. I shamed Joe in Manchester a few years ago when I spotted Bez in the city centre. I was all “Oh it’s Bez!!” and I can still hear Joe now saying “keep walking, keep walking, don’t go over, don’t you DARE go over”…so I went over to say hello and he was the loveliest fella, had a chat and I got a great photo with him which a very red faced Joe had to be called over to take

Love to you all xx

Good morning.
I wish it was! Honestly, you wouldn't put a dog out in this weather. Rain, rain, rain.
Hope the wind drops for you soon Vic.
Jo! How nice to have you back. You should be packed with various antibodies now!
Just been for a walk to see the fallen tree in the park which just missed the old lodge house. Three feet to the left and they'd be needing a new house. As it is its brought a power line down as well. It's going to take some shifting. I did take some photos but it was chucking it down so I don't know how they'll turn out.
I was the only person I saw who was outside and not in a car. Not even the hardy dog walkers were out.
Only one bloke stood in the doorway of the Cock and Crown, sensible chap.
Have a good day all.

Morning all :D

Lot's of rain yesterday, it doesn't look much more promising now.

We've had a nice lie in, planning an easy day. It's rotisserie chicken with veg for dinner this evening, then vanilla blancmange with lemon and lime jelly. Must put an order in for more blancmange, we're down to just one sachet :o

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon all. Wet and drizzly outside for most of the morning; it seems reasonably quiet outside ATM, but they are forecasting continuing windy weather throughout the day and most of tomorrow with gusts to peak at 56mph currently, sometime this afternoon.

Managed to intercept my mate Andy who was visiting his M this morning a couple of doors down from us. He has a Somerset farming background, so is well used to things like fencing repairs, however, he did a double take when I showed him what the wind had done to ours! We went out back and inspected it, and we will need 6 new fence posts affecting 4 panels - they were set in concrete and were completely sheared at the base by the force of the wind  . It was one heck of a gust. Other than that, the slatted fence panels seem to be reasonably intact and we'll probably just need a few cross-braces to secure them back in place. Hopefully he'll get it done next week. His M's fence survived the storm, he reckons he'll just need one new fence post for hers.

Hope you've been able to sort out your own roof repairs, Vic.
Be interesting to see your Lodge House pictures if you can upload them Crommers.
Glad to read you've more or less recovered, Jo.

Afternoon all, we are enjoying our mini break in Cork. The drive down wasn’t too bad, rain until our tea/coffee stop then just the occasional shower after that. We had a nice meal yesterday evening, then my two nieces came to meet us the bar - last of the big drinkers, cuppas all around  It was lovely to see them. This morning was fairly miserable so we have been utterly lazy, we went back to bed after breakfast :o Sitting here in our nice room drinking tea before heading off to the dance at 3pm, it is only a short drive away. This evening my brother is coming to meet us for something to eat. We’ll have to get on the road earlyish tomorrow as I have a boob squishing appointment at 3.15 in Dublin. The major roundabout on the way in/out of Cork has lots of roadworks so we will need to allow extra time for getting through there before we get on the motorway.

Jo, you’ve really been through it, glad you are feeling better now.
