When your President doesn't like you

You can get a bit irritated.

Which is what it happening with Elon Musk and Tesla with Biden.

On Tuesday, U.S. President Joe Biden praised Ford Motor and General Motors for their investments in electric vehicle production during his State of the Union address. But one U.S. EV maker was notably absent from the president’s speech: Tesla.

it goes on.

“Ford is investing $11 billion to build electric vehicles, creating 11,000 jobs across the country. GM is making the largest investment in its history—$7 billion to build electric vehicles, creating 4,000 jobs in Michigan,” Biden said, offering only those two companies as evidence of American manufacturers investing in domestic production.

Elon got a bit irritated at this.

“Tesla has created over 50,000 US jobs building electric vehicles & is investing more than double GM + Ford combined,

and it goes on.

In August, Musk said the administration was “not the friendliest” after a White House meeting with automakers excluded Tesla. Then, in January, Musk complained about his company being left out of an official White House video that promoted electric vehicles and featured GM CEO Mary Barra.

“Biden has pointedly ignored Tesla at every turn and falsely stated to the public that GM leads the electric car industry

Again this was a bit much for Elon.

“Tesla produced over 300,000 electric vehicles last quarter, and GM produced 26.”

Musk’s complaints aren’t without reason.

According to Bloomberg, Tesla’s factory in Fremont, Calif., is the most productive automotive plant in all of North America, producing an average of 8,550 cars a week. Tesla plans to expand its production in the U.S. and elsewhere in this year, too, as the company builds a new factory in Texas, another in Berlin, and expands its existing operations in Shanghai.

So what is Biden's problem??

But the White House is reportedly wary of working with Tesla owing to the electric-car maker’s nonunionized workforce and accusations that Tesla has actively suppressed union activity. Last month, a California regulator sued Tesla for racial discrimination, too, accusing the car company of operating a “racially segregated workplace

Now of course this has never been seen in GM has it???

General Motors allowed a culture of racism, lawsuit claims

A General Motors facility in Ohio failed to properly respond to several nooses that appeared in the workplace, as well as other complaints of racial bullying, a lawsuit claims.

Read it, it is a real view of automotive workers in the USA and how they view their other workers.

Of course Biden doesn't get off scot free.

Even so, Biden’s cold shoulder toward Tesla became too much for Musk’s fans to bear in January, when a group of devotees launched an online petition to get Biden to “acknowledge Tesla’s leadership in electric vehicles.” The petition quickly garnered 60,000 signatures and—coincidence or not—President Biden finally recognized Tesla’s achievements on Feb. 8, when he called the company “our nation’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer.”

It didn't last long though.

But Biden’s snub during his State of the Union address suggests that Tesla has fallen out of favor with the White House again

So what is the real problem?

Tesla does not advertise. That is a Really BIG one. They save Billions by not paying for a single advert.
Tesla does not use dealerships, they sell direct. BIG impact as dealerships consume a big chunk of the "middle man" money.
Tesla does not like unions. Tesla gives out share options to staff and pays more than any Union employee when shares are factored in. Many Tesla employees have become millionaires with the meteoric rise of Tesla shares.
Tesla uses a LOT of contract staff and contract agencies. The agencies are supposed to deal with racism issues but often the higher level management are, themselves, an issue.
Tesla uses almost 100% locally sourced goods for it's vehicles. Microprocessors being the biggest non US manufactured product. Mainly because there is nobody in the US to make them. Whereas the Ford Mustang Mach E is made in Mexico. Ford and GM need people to not be aware of this.

Tesla is also a massive threat to the incumbent US auto industry. On the trajectory Tesla is on right now, Tesla overtakes GM at the end of 2025. 4 years from now. There are numerous youtube video's about this. Sandy Muro, ex chief engineer of Ford has voiced this many times. His view is simple, work out how many vehicles they sell each year, work out what % of vehicles will be EV by 2030. The number of vehicles NOT electric are the % business they will have lost.

Now I'm not entirely up with the 2030 timeline, but 2035-2040 yep, certainly.

After all of that, what's up with Biden?

The Unions own his soul and large parts of his body. The MSM and advertising moguls own his reproductive organs. But the biggest one is he can't remember the difference between Ukraine and Iran.

Hence Elon's twitter response.

For those who are interested, here is Sandy Munro's video on where Legacy auto stand and here is the electric viking video on the Altman Z score referenced at the beginning of the Munro video.

If you don't have the 45 minutes for Sandy's video, you can start here. Where the really interesting stuff starts. You've missed the roadrunner and rattlesnake paradigm shift but he's into more explanations.

If you are really short of time, start from here.
