Good morning Thursday

A place to chat with friends, old and new

Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 21 Jul 2022, 05:18

Good morning from sunny Blackpool. 8-)

Yesterday was absolutely fantastic. :cute: :cute:

When we checked into the hotel Steve and Kenny, the couple who own and run it, clicked with us immediately and after chatting for a wee while they said if we're looking for something to do in the evening we could join them at their friend's pub...which we duly did and had a blast of a night.

Full English breakfast is being served between 9 - 9.30 then we'll check out.

The hotel has parking and Jackie was able to park right in the front bay and the boys have said we can leave the car there until we're ready to leave Blackpool. :P

We're going to walk from South pier to North pier then head to the tower to go up it then walk on the glass floor. :D

We'll head back to Birmingham around 3 and it'll take about 2.5 hours.

We're dropping Aimee at a wedding reception then going out for a couple of drinks.

Jackie said this was her best birthday ever.

Have a great day. X

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Warm already and very still, not a breath of wind 8-)

Sounds like you've had a great time Ally :Hi:

Off to Ourique after coffee, to do the shopping we didn't get around to yesterday. Back for breakfast and then that will be it for the day.

Will be getting a cooked chicken for dinner and I'll make a salad to go with it.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Ally, glad you and Jackie are having a blast! :D Enjoy that glass floor! Xxx

Have a good one Jan :) xxx

It’s a lot cooler here today, nice and fresh. I’m going to risk leaving Fraggle for an hour this morning while D and I go to Sainsburys- she’s going to pick me up from here rather than me walking up to hers. He should be ok for such a short time. Pilates tonight but B will be home from work by then 8-)

Really missing Mick, he’ll be back tomorrow. All his team turned up in Ipswich yesterday and they took him out for a farewell dinner last night, which was lovely for him. They made a real effort as they’re based all over the place, including Wales! One guy coming in from up north had to change trains several times, and zigzag to get there because of the travel problems!

Have a good day everyone xxx

Morning all, we’re up quite early today as we are heading off to Wicklow for the day - Edward and Michael are playing in the grandparent and grandchild golf competition. Miss Osc will be working from home so suggested I bring my book, sitting reading suits me! I presume Kellie will be off playing with her pals. I had a bad night’s sleep so sitting around doing little will suit me fine.

Morning all :D

Still hot in the house, but definitely looks cooler outside.

Yesterday sounds fun Ally.
A nice easy day sounds nice Jan.
Mick's farewell dinner sounds nice Kaz.
A bad night's sleep is horrid Osc, doing little sounds a good plan.

Shopping day for us, we only need a few bits so won't be hanging around, in/out as quickly as we can. Will see what the weather's like when we get back, if it's not too windy for the brollies it will be another afternoon in the garden.

Stay cool and have a good day xx

Grumpy bought a new toy in Aldi's and has now very kindly used it all over the house.

A hand held vacuum has now cleaned all the skirting boards and corners :Hi: :Hi:

Lovely lazy swim and float. Made a potato salad to go with the chicken :D

Al, you’ve made me want to visit Blackpool, I’ve not been since 2007!

Kaz, I totally understand with leaving Fraggle. It’s the same here with Bill, although he can be left for around three hours (although it’s a very very rare occasion that we’d do that!). I was planning on getting out and about a bit over the Summer while Tom was off work but he moves out next week so I won’t be able to. I used to be able to leave him with my parents but that’s no longer possible, they’re far too frail now to be able to look after him. I’m not even sure we’ll be able to visit Tom at his house unless Joe’s home because dogs aren’t allowed and it’s a two hour round trip by car. Can’t even think that we can get away with it as the landlord won’t know - the landlord is their next door neighbour!

It’s really tricky, isn’t it Jo? We have left Fraggle with D just for a few hours, once or twice, but generally if we’re all out together we only go to places we can take him with us. Hence sitting outside Corretto’s no matter what the weather :? While Mick’s still working I’ve been able to come and go as I please, because he works from home, but once he’s retired (next month!) how we’ll manage is anyone’s guess

He was fine yesterday but I was only out for slightly over an hour. I could really do with getting into town today - my psoriasis has flared and I desperately need the sunbed - but not sure I could get there and back quickly enough :?
