They have arrived!

Postby Workingman » 17 Oct 2022, 15:24

The woollen jumpers I mentioned in Kaz's Sainsbury's C delivery slot thread.

They look hand-knit and boy are they heavy, I needed a crane to get them up the stairs! Made in Nepal they have a good quality feel to them so should last a few years... and a bit. They are a loose fit and they are long, down to my bum, long.

It is ages since I have been so pleased when spending money! ;)

I'll get a photo this evening.

Or even now:

Very nice!

I'd wear the one on the left with shorts, thick black tights and my DM's.

I'd like to see you wearing one at the meet? :D

Ria, I was originally going to get a cream one with a pattern similar to the black one then I saw the neon one and couldn't resist....

And, yes, all of you, I will be wearing one to Brum. :D :D :D

Jan, gran used to do the same. Her knitting needles were thick like long pencils.

I just weighed the jumpers and they are 1.4Kg (3lbs). That's a lot of wool per jumper! :o The wool alone would cost something like £20 - £25 or maybe more, so they are a real bargain.

Saundra, I got a fact sheet of dos and don'ts and it is all pretty much what we oldsters would do.

Hand wash in warm water using mild soap. Rinse till water is clear. Do not wring or spin (use the towel trick). Dry flat. The washing will have to be done in the bath as I don't have a big enough sink.
