The twitter axe has fallen.

And it is a mean axe. Fully 50% of the staff. Including full teams who have enhanced the Woke "inclusivity" of Twitter. Some other teams are useful but are also going as the new broom sweeps clean.

Human Rights. Gone.
Accessibility experience. Gone.
Communications. Unclear but a large chunk including the head, gone.
Machine learning ethics, transparency and accountability. Gone.
Curation. Gone
Public policy. Half gone.

I'm sure this will expand. I've been reading tweets from those who have received their notification. I must admit if I adopt my military persona it is world full of self opinionated and self aggrandised bleating. My non military persona recognises a whole group of people who have found a very comfortable group of other people to find common cause with and reject all change they don't agree with.

Musk buying twitter was an E.L.E for these Twitter staff. The rest are going to face a simple ultimatum. "Root hog or die". At least half of the remainder won't make it.

At least it appears that Twitter have done this with full compliance for the laws of each staff member wherever they are in the world. It looks like the cost will be between $40m and $60m to lay them off legally.

What this means for Twitter in the long term? Who knows, the company goes private again on Tuesday and then a great big wall will surround the company and what it is doing.

So far activists have been bombarding the platform with abusive and racist content (defeated) and advertisers have been bombarded with activists demanding that they withdraw advertising. The costs of getting rid of the staff will have been known up front and priced in. The loss of revenue is a bit more serious and it will remain to be seen how it works out.

The short version, though, is that with only $5bn in revenue coming in in recent years, Musk has the resources to keep Twitter going for at least a decade whilst he transitions it even if every advertiser did a bunk. Which they won't do because there are simply too many people in the community to sell to.

If you are a Twitter user, it is going to be "living in interesting times". I will patiently wait until the platform pivots to a new place before passing judgement.

He's a maverick; which is why so many important people hate him. He's not playing their game.

Twitter beats me; I think teh will advance to the point where something else overtakes it. Remember Friends Reunited? That sold for millions and a couple of years later it was worthless.

Was it Twitter or Facebook who shut Donald Trump down and still let the Taliban post?

Nobody has been dismissed yet. They are all suspended for 90 days before termination.

That gives Twitter another 2 months to file the notification.

Where countries have laws which require consultation, consultation is being done.

The press is miles away from the truth here but they get half their "news" from twitter so don't want to tell the truth.

These staff retain full wages and benefits whilst they exit the company with full ability to re train or find another job.

Just so the truth shines through the wall of press "facts"

Any politician or public figure who contradicts globalist orthodoxy gets set on by the mainstream media. Trump, johnson, Orban, Meloni, Musk, Salvini, whoever.
And it is happening to Musk now.

In Q3 last year, give or take a month or 2, Musk tweeted. That he and Tesla were about to come under intensive legal attack. In order to counter that Tesla was setting up a rottweiler legal team to counter these false accusations.

This same legal team will have fully vetted and approved every single notice as being compliant with the laws of the countries the staff work in.

The press and twitter verse is, as ever, clueless and spouting false. Information.

So, let us get this straight. St Elon is acting so legally and benevolently that his former CEOs, executives, directors, section and team heads, and those at the coal face are NOT suing him. Not anywhere in the world.

It will be interesting to see how those cases, and others to come, pan out.

Or maybe it won't. Most people with a working brain cell couldn't care less about Twitter.

If you think that the MSM is fact checking and reporting true stories, just go and search for Twitter and Ligma Johnson.

Rahul Ligma and Daniel Johnson, two, supposedly, fired Twitter employees.

You might want to check the urban dictionary for Ligma Johnson first. Or not....

You are being spoon fed crap by the MSM who have spent most of the year creating a narrative. The second something turns up that appears to fit that narrative gets reported verbatim. Apologies have followed. But you don't hear that do you.

Then if you really want to exercise your brain cells you might want to look up a 4Chan bot attack on Twitter which created massive racial abuse content. Content which had no followers apart from bots and almost entirely went unnoticed by the Twitter users.

It was, however, detected by the human rights observers and reported to the main advertisers as a 500% increase in hate speech and human rights abuses.

Meanwhile, inside Twitter, the rules had not been changed and the moderating teams were fully functional. They detected the attack and terminated the bot accounts.

However the damage was done and the largest advertisers withdrew from the platform.

Thus justifying Musks removal of staff.

You think you are getting even 10% of the truth? Think again. Long and HARD.

Meanwhile the changes at Twitter are going vertical. Long message Tweets will be live soon. Video's up to 42.minute long in 2 weeks. Twitter blue is going live at $8 for anyone and Twitter blue users will be able to monetise their video's just like YouTube but Twitter will give a bigger % of the revenue.

Meanwhile they are going to resurrect Vine, a predecessor to Instagram and TickTok and will monetise that for paying Blue users too.

Nice to know you are up to date with what is happening isn't it.
