A friend of mine lives near here, apparently it’s not in a very good area but just look at it! And the price too!

I showed Joe and the first thing he said was “that’s haunted”, I’d tend to agree

Wow, what potential is there in that house? Nice old Edwardian place, solid wood floors etc - and the price!

It looks like it hasn't been lived in for a while and I had a look on a site called Homefacts about the neighbourhood.
Crime overall is 198% higher than the national average, violent crime is 328% higher then the national average and property crime 220% higher.

The sort of place you might need a .45 more than a security light!! :o :o

Obviously a very wealthy area in it's day but no longer.

I think a lot of previously ‘good’ neighbourhoods in the US have gone that way Crommers. We used to visit John’s aunt Norah and uncle Jack in Niagara Falls (the US side) and we saw each visit how the area was deteriorating, block by block.
I’ve actually just googled the house and it’s recently been put up for sale. It’s so sad to see it in such a state, it was beautiful when they owned it. They also owned the house next door which they converted into flats, and that house was bigger still. Their daughter and granddaughter lived in one, their son and his family in another and the third was rented out until Norah and Jack sold this house and moved in.

That is sad Jo. $29,000 and it's already been reduced by $10,000.
Once a beautiful and well loved family home but now an unloved and uncared for house.

I think you must be right; many formerly good neighbourhoods must have gone downhill. Such a shame.

I’ve got another.
This is the house next door to my mother in law. John’s Mom’s house is the one with the grey door. Despite the different fronts the layouts and sizings are exactly the same.
This is the fourth time it’s been up for sale (it’s sold three times, and as recently as last year) since she retired to there and bought her house 9 years ago, and in that time she’s had eight different families next door, it was a rental for some of that time too. That’s caused a lot of amusement because she does like to complain and often has done!

They are really lovely houses Kaz, and mother in law has a great view over to the other side of the valley which is all countryside.

I’m not exactly sure why she’s stayed so long
She Facetimed John on Sunday night (at bang on 10 o’clock, as always) and her opening comment was “worst decision I ever made was to move here”. Seems she doesn’t feel she gets enough attention off Theresa.
