Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 14 Dec 2022, 06:44

Good morning.

Walking into town later to meet a friend. I want to get a few last bits to take back home with me and we'll have a spot of lunch. :D

Footy with Craig tonight. Think we're watching it at his local.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning all

Enjoy the time with your friend Ally; can't believe it's nearly home time for you

Another nippy start to the day. Working from home today, but because of lack of heating I'm going to do a few bits here at home, then head to Sainsbury's and Aldi and then work from Karl and Nadine's for the rest of the day.

My new radiator was delivered yesterday, but the box is in such a state I'm not sure the radiator isn't damaged - too dark to see much last night so about to unwrap it and see what gives. Seriously the DIY work at home definitely didn't chose the weather well  the week after the main radiator was removed so we could knock out the wall the weather turned really cold; and it looks like it's going to warm up the moment I get the new one connected (if it isn't damaged that is). Just as well my electricity tariff is fixed from last year; at least I can afford to run a small oil filled radiator for a few hours a day.

Have a lovely day all - stay warm xx

Morning Ally, Ria and everyone

We a little sunshine but a lot of cloud and more very heavy rain to come 8-)

Off to Ourique after breakfast, the pool needs salt to replace what's been so very diluted  and then the supermarkets.

Pit stop for coffee, gossip and check the post box and back for breakfast, hopefully before the heavens open.

Another day of staying in and watching the rain.

Footie tonight and I'm trying a new Portuguese dish for dinner. Ervilhas guisadas.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everybody.
Still cold with frost on the car. I put a cover on the windscreen so I do not have to defrost that before I go for the paper.
Enjoyed the pantomine last night. Best part was when the Dame had a few young children on the stage. There were as many pensuiners as children in the audience.
Am hoping to have a parcel delivered today by one of the courier companies. It is coming from a firm in Liverpool. According to the information on the
tracking number it was picked up on Monday and taken to their hub at Hinkley. After being sorted it was returned to the Liverpool depot for delivery.
It says there is a delay in delivery and I should get it today. It is a Christmas present.
Ria, hope you get your CH sorted. It is nice just pressing a button and the boiler starts up. The radiators soon get warm. I have decided to keep warm
and will worry about the cost next year.
Just pootling for the rest of the day

Good morning all.
Cold and frosty here.
Enjoy the footie Ally and the evil gussets Jan! Stay warm Ria and I hope your parcel turns up Cruiser.
MrsC is off to see her Aunt Sally and Uncle Harry this morning. So I'm stuck in. I'll get out somewhere this afternoon. Saying that, it looks a lot icier underfoot than it has done.
I'm making a cottage pie for later, you need some stick to your ribs food in this weather.
Have a good day all.

That's what we've decided too Cruiser.

Forgot to say yesterday I was full of the snots and sniffles, my nose was perpetually running. Gave up on tissues and sat cuddling a loo roll most of the day. Also had a background headache so dosed myself up with paracetamol and smothered the underside of my pillow with albas oil. Seems to have helped, feeling a bit better this morning. We were planning a walk, but have decided to stay in the warm and take it easy today. I have a hair appointment tomorrow and don't want to miss that.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Morning all :)

Another cold day here, the snow’s turned to ice  :x Been into town, was going to meet my friend J for a cuppa but she had a hip replacement a while back and didn’t want to risk slipping over. So I picked up the bits I needed in Smith’s and the pound shop and rang Mick to meet me for a cuppa. We’re off round D’s in a little while. Am supposed to be going to Zumba tonight but think I will cry off!

Ally, enjoy your last couple of days here. I envy you going back to the sunshine ;) :D xx

Good idea to keep warm round at N and K’s, Ria 8-) xxx

I hope the reservoirs are getting nice and full for you Jan :) xxx

Glad you enjoyed the pantomime Cruiser xxx

Ooh that’s given me an idea for dinner tonight Crommers :D

Glad you’re feeling better Jen xxx

That’s the best idea Saundra xxx

Stay warm everyone :) xx

Afternoon all, brrrrrrrrrr is all I’ll say

It was -7 when I went out with Bill at 6.30, and so foggy and frosty. The fog cleared around 9 and it brightened up but it’s getting quite misty again now.

I did the Christmas trees yesterday and most of the wrapping is done. I’ve finally posted everything, that took three trips to the post office. I went over on Monday morning for stamps and to post a parcel but they wouldn’t accept the parcel because they were full to capacity due to the strikes. They were waiting for a collection but were unsure when it’d be. Went back in the afternoon to post the cards and shouted in to ask if they were taking parcels (couldn’t go in because I’d got Bill with me) and they were so after I’d walked him home I picked up the parcel and went back with it.

Leek, cheese and potato bake with air fried chicken breasts for tea. Just the three of us as Joe’s eating at Amanda’s.
He showed me the receipt for their dinner at The Shard on Friday night.
£269
They’re young, they’ve got no commitments to worry about and it was a special occasion for them so fair play to them :D

Have a good day all :)
