Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 28 Feb 2023, 06:13

Good morning.

Yesterday was just absolutely perfect. :cute:

Much laughter as sis opened her presents. The 12 I'd bought her all had a funny quiz type question attached and Michele took great delight in participating. So did Mark.

We then spent a wee while going through some old photos. Such lovely, lovely memories. X

After lunch we drove an hour away to Oradour -sor-Glane to the site of a massacre which took place in 1944.
It's been left virtually untouched but a very informative museum has been built explaining what happened.
To walk through the small burnt out village it's so eerily sad to imagine what happened.
Streets, houses and the little school all rampaged through and set fire to.

A very thought provoking experience. :(

Today Michele and I are going shopping.
Well now I've got 4kgs less in my little case I need to fill it again.

Mark's cooking steak tonight and sis is making Eton Mess for dessert. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

We had sun earlier, but then the clouds came over but the sun is just about out again now. A cool 14C.

Small pile of ironing this morning, then I would really like to get out in the garden. As long as the wind stays away, it won't be so bad.

Off to Ourique for our conversation lesson and I've taken stew out of the freezer for dinner. Bu the time we have the lesson, then have a chat, it gets rather late.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Glad you're having such a great time Ally, and that the fun with the presents went down so well :D :D :D xx

Have a good time at your lesson Jan :) xx

It's grey and dull weather-wise here today. I have an actual face-to-face GP appointment at 11.45 - feel like I'm off to meet a unicorn ;) Firstly Mick and I are out for a spot of brunch. We'll go and see D later. Her landline still isn't fixed, but we've been assured tomorrow at the latest. Seems someone accidentally cut a cord coming from the exchange :cute:

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning everybody.
We have had some rain during the night but the sun is out with only a few flufy clouds.
Have been for a blood test. The clinic opens at 7.30 a.m. You have to make an appointment and I was the first one in.
Have had my breakfast and will be going out again to have an annual diabetic eye screning test at another health centre.
Can't fault the surgery I use. They do check up on me and arrange annual checks for eyes blood and feet because I am diabetic.
Then back home for lunch.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, the sun is out at the moment but there is a lot of cloud around, and there was a short shower about an hour ago. Nevertheless, Edward has gone off walking to the golf club. I’ll do the usual stuff around the house and also need to make a phone call, then I have a hair appointment at 1.30. My doctor visit went well yesterday, I hadn’t seen him before but we had a good talk, especially about my refusal to take statins. My cholesterol has always been quite high, I think it is genetic, but I’m going to be very careful about what I eat and will have bloods done in a few months. It’s annoying, because I’m not overweight, eat well, don’t drink or smoke, and I exercise. Cruiser, it’s good to know that your doctor keeps such a good eye on you.

Morning all :D

Rain first thing, sunshine now, but think we'll get more rain as the day goes on.

Glad yesterday went so well Ally.

We're popping out to the small Tesco in the next hour or so. Need fresh veggies and more bananas.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Quite a productive day, out in the sunshine 8-) It's 18C at the moment, just right be working outside.

Cuttings have been planted, pots watered, I've walked miles in the field next door, picking up sticks and wood for our new project. Also for the fire ;) Done the ironing, chatted with David and Rita, as they were also out working and pulled and bagged a load of lavender by the gate. It tends to take over, if left.

We disturbed a rather large wasps nest, hence us stopping work and coming inside. The wasps are not happy   especially now we've sprayed the nest

We have had a couple of wasp nests.
First one was behind trhe shed. Secoind one was in the roof space above the extension.
In both cases we got a specialistwho caqme and removed the nestand sprayed the surrounding area. Saidhe would come back free of charge if they returned.

Not had any more trouble since.
