Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 07 Mar 2023, 06:47

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 21°. 8-)
After today it's a steady rise to 27° and beyond. Summer is approaching. :D

After my walk it's a day of fruit squeezing.

We've got zillions of oranges and lemons and a neighbour handed in a massive bag of pink grapefruits.
My juicer will be busy.

GB Menu tonight. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

We've had some rain and more is forecast and 19C for us.

Had a problem with the very old freezer in that it frosted over and the door opened  Only a couple of things defrosted, so we'll eat them, but the rest, fortunately, is okay. I'll have to ring round friends and borrow some freezer space until I can get it completely defrosted and start again.

Off to Ourique later for our hour of conversation - we laugh more than we talk, I think

Leftovers for dinner, something quick and easy.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :D

Wet

Enjoy your walk Ally.
How annoying about the freezer Jan, lucky you haven't any of the food.

I'm off for a blood test at 12. It's for the Galleri Trial started last year. They are working with the NHS to find a test that will spot a large range of cancers before they become an issue. There's a bit of discussion about whether it's a good thing to know, but I'm with the majority who believe spotting cancer in the very early stages would be a game changer for so many people. The mobile unit is in the Sainsbury's car park so we'll probably pop in afterward, need fresh veg and more bananas.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Morning all, it’s lovely and sunny but very cold - thankfully no frost here but there is elsewhere. We are up early as we are going to a funeral at 1.30 but want to do some shopping beforehand. This is the funeral of a dancing friend who dropped dead on a dance floor in early February (a nice way to go) - his wife only died last October, both of them a good few years younger than we are. The body of our neighbour across the road was found last week and his funeral is here in Howth on Thursday. Hopefully his family can now emerge from the limbo of the last six weeks and grieve him properly. I need some cheerful news!

Jen, I am a firm believer in spotting cancer as early as possible, well done for taking part in the trial.

Hello and good morning all

Ally, what will you do with all the fruit juice, can you freeze it?
Jan, phew lucky that no much defrosted. Good luck with chatting hour - and yay for the rain!
Jen, same as Osc and you I'm also a firm believer in better to spot early; I'd very happily sign up for that trial - well done you
Gosh Osc - what a way to go; and so soon after his wife :( Your poor neighbours, this must have been hell for them :( so sad

Well I've had a busy morning - 7am start to head to Sainsbury's for some bits and bobs; then home to do some work and then off for a 9.30 vet appointment with Jamie. Poor girl is 17 years old, and age has not in any way mellowed her tortitude; so I've had to sedate her for this particular appointment. She has a very painful mouth and without said sedation (gabapentin) they'd not have been able to check her out. For her age and ricketiness she's darn feisty at the vet :D - bless her. So fingers crossed the anti-inflammatory does the trick over the next 10 days otherwise she's going to have to have all her back teeth removed :(

Now back at my trusty computer doing the usual mix of work and pootling; need to clean out the chicken coop and give them their veg; and then later today helping Nadine with a bit more of her uni work. So busy and productive day.

Have a good one everyone x

Third time I’ve tried to post this morning  :cute:

Not going to risk any more long posts, so will just say I hope the juicing, conversing, testing, snow melting, vet appointments etc all go well :) xxxx

Currently out with Mick having brunch. Just about to walk Fraggle round the dock, then go to D’s. We need a new kitchen bin, so a visit to The Range at some point, then yet another try to get through to HMRC about paying my missing NI years

Have a good day everyone xxx
