yep I wear nice fluffy socks too. I have a pair of Next ones that look like highland cattle.

Kaz did you know you shouldn't warm a bad back you should ice it. My osteopath lady says warming a bad back just further inflames the muscles, it feel nice at the time, but delays the healing. She had a client who just wasn't getting better then told her he had driven 40 miles with his heated seat on.

I use an ice block wrapped in a tea towel and sit against it for 15 mins when my back plays up

I wear fluffy bed socks
On the off chance that Bill wants to go out in the night, I don’t want to stand barefoot on the cold kitchen floor tiles waiting for him to come back in.

Incidentally I can’t remember the last time he woke to go out in the night but I’m not taking any chances :P

Kaz, I'll go with Shell on this.

When I had the plates put in my back the consultant, Mr Cruickshank, told me to follow the six rule - 3 mins hot (warm) followed by 3 mins cold, always ending on cold, repeat six times.

Hot water bottle and a bag of frozen peas, both wrapped in their own towel to prevent "burns".

I adjust the temp of the room then wear nothing more than a pair of pants. Since my circulation stopped working optimally I've been suffering from overheating under the covers and freezing out of them. Bedsocks would not help much as I'd still be in the devil or the deep blue sea mode.

Ah, thanks both. I get an X-ray tomorrow so will find out if it's muscular or not.

I just cannot get to sleep if I'm cold (esp my feet) so will wear socks on those occasions; but seldom that I'll wake up with them still on

Same here Ria. There is usually one missing in the morning. I find that if my feet are warm I sleep better.

Oh I do the same. I just need to be warm to fall asleep; but then usually at some point I wake up because I'm too hot :D and at which point the socks come off and it's a case of put the left foot in and put the right foot out (do the hokey-cokey and shake it all about). But come 5am(ish) I wake up because it's cold again
- sigh
