PSA are seriously on my sh*t list

Postby Suff » 08 Mar 2023, 21:01

Back in November I bought the advanced navigation module from Citroen. Basically full TomTom services but bundled from PSA. It came with a 1 month trial then you paid for the rest of the year. No option to just buy it and now I know why.

First of all it took until Feb 4th for me to get it activated. I had to scour forums and even when I got the correct info it still took an hours drive with the bluetooth tethering enabled on my mobile before it would finally activate.

So Two months into my service it tells me I have 10 months left, having lost 2 months.

Then to add insult to injury I check my credit card statement today and see a PSA payment for £85 plus a £3.60 cash transaction fee. I called my card provider and told them I was suspicious. Eventually we worked out that PSA had finally taken the £85 I authoriesed back in November then put it through as a Hire Purchase payment. Making it a cash transaction and gathering interest payments every day until I paid off the ENTIRE BLOODY BALANCE.

As you can imagine I was irked. A LOT. I paid off the whole card and have launched a complaint with PSA, telling them to get my extra 2 months of service back on my navigation and give me some sort of explanation as to why they billed me in the way they did.

As you can imagine, I will be buying Zero from PSA for this car, ever again. I'd rather buy a Satnav and stick it on the windscreen even though I have two very good screens in the car which make a perfect navigation system. When I have it in navigation mode I can zoom the whole screen out on the lower screen to see the entire route and use the instrument cluster screen to display the turn by turn stuff.

What a major rectal agony!

Bunch of ononists.

I used my satnav two weeks ago for the first time and still got lost.
I was trying to find a pub near Nantwich in Cheshire out in the country. Finally found it nearly half an hour late.
Should stick to the old O/S paper maps. Could read and follow those.

That does sound a bit sneaky Suff.

I'm like Cruiser, I generally use a map. Although I did use my phone once when I got hopelessly lost trying to find a specific pub in Barnsley.

I travel a lot and don't always know the location I'm going to. City streets are a big pain because you can't read the map and drive in the city. For that satnav is perfect.

I can drive to Stockholm without a map mostly. The main thing is the big right hand bend round the Duisburg/Essen area on the Autobahn. It is so often ripped up for roadworks and at times has 6 lanes and you need to know which one to go in. Apart from that I'm basically OK to drive 1,500 miles there.

However, get to the city and I do know Stockholm pretty well, then if you are on your own you need something like satnav. Or you don't find where you are going and can get lost easily.

They did eventually come back and contact me.

They have sent me the updated contract. Apparently it is not important enough to fix the app but the contract does begin from early feb and end early feb.

They have asked me to provide evidence of the charges on my credit card and they'll refund it.

All very good as far as it goes. But here's the issue. If I buy again will they have fixed the problem or will I simply have to suffer it again or use a debit card for the purchase?

Also the activation. They tell me I have a telematics box in my car. So it should just activate. No it didn't just activate. They didn't send me the activation info either. I suggested that if they send someone a subscriptions it is pretty ignorant and very poor performance to then expect every person to go to the FAQ section of the PSA website and then find (I didn't), the correct connected services activation document. I told them they need to SEND the document to every person or at the very least a link. Although the document is of more use.

They still don't know why it didn't activate, apparently it should take 15 minutes. I found hundreds of posts on the web about "15 minute" fairy stories and also about how they could not get support to activate it when it failed.

Still on my avoid list. No matter how much sticking plaster they put on it.
