And the next project

Postby JanB » 09 Mar 2023, 19:18

I have persuaded himself that a small "island" in the middle of the rather large gravelled front drive will look good :Hi: :Hi:

We looked at a couple of houses, before we bought this one, both of whom had a little "turning circle" or roundabout and one looked really good. The other as pants, but the idea has stuck.

We'll need some help and lots of rather large boulders, but it's going to be done :Hi:

And then, as we were stood there, we both said "and wouldn't it be a good idea to have a semi-circle, by the pool wall"

So that will be done at the same time.

Cuttings will be taken tomorrow and I'll have a look at other plants which might look good.

Small stuff, not like I have just bought

Get a turntable.

Drive on when you get home, get out, hit the button and turn it 180 degrees.

Come out, get in and drive off.

Simples. ;)

Oooh Jan, that will look amazing! Also, what about a nice tree in the circle to give shade in the summer?
where will the half circle be? On the drive next to the pool?

Yes, by the pool wall. We have a black plant in a pit there at the moment, and I was thinking of ornamental grasses either side.

For the middle bit, I think the spikey things, as tree roots go a long way and it will be quite near the house. And some other stuff in there too.
