My father had to stop driving then had both done. Private for the same reason.

It is scary Jan, feel for you. I've been procrastinating going to see the opticians for a while now. Since my heart attack my eyesight has degraded dramatically. Only for reading for the moment although I've noticed that reading writing on the TV, which was blurry with reading glasses, is now clear wearing them. Long sight is still better than most so It's not a priority but I guess I should go.

My new driving glasses seem to be ok. However, I still have an issue when not driving where my eyes “don’t seem to be talking to each other” as the optician said. If it doesn’t settle I’ll have to go back to her and see what happens next. I apparently have a teeny tiny bit of cataract but nothing to even think about, I’m told.

Thank you everyone.

Not worried about it, hate people messing with my eyes, hence stopping using contact lenses.

Our appointments have come through for 27 March, so happy with that.

Going private, as it-s a couple of years quicker

I had both mine done just before we moved here Jan. Had to have both lasered a couple of years later, apparently it's quite common. I still wear varifocals, but apart from reading can actually manage without specs most of the time.
