Joe had an eventful drive to work this morning!
Amanda stayed here last night so he dropped her at home before work. There’s a downhill bend as you start to head into her village and he said it’s been wet for weeks because of poor drainage and he actually felt the car skid on it this morning, it’d been -1 overnight so had turned icy.

Anyway, he dropped Manda at home just before 7am and was driving back towards this bend when he saw a man in the road waving him down. He stopped to see what was wrong and someone else had obviously skidded too but had ended up with the car on its side down a ditch.
Luckily the driver wasn’t injured and Joe and the other man managed to get him out, Joe called an ambulance to be on the safe side because the man said he’d banged his head and the police attended too along with a first responder.

She hates buying clothes and isn’t at all confident about her choices, so it will be a battle  I’ve told her she will look, and more importantly feel amazing on the day, even if it kills the both of us :geek: :!: :D  I’m on a mission ;) :D

You have some lovely clothes so I’m sure you’ll soon get her sorted with the perfect outfit x

Thank you :) xxx

Well done Joe. Yes, there is still a sting in the tail of this winter, it was decidedly frosty down here this morning as well.

In other news, I wheedled and pleaded with the girls down at the Post Office this afternoon and managed to prise a couple of the new, bright and shiny, King Charles III 50p pieces out of them! First I've seen. :D

MrsC has been talking to a lady at our local community library. This lady had been on holiday to Whitby recently.
Whilst there she was on the pier, watching a boat come into the harbour. When it got close in tweny young men jumped off the boat and ran for it!
This is in a holiday resort on the East coast.
People were shouting "They're illegals, they're illegals!".
But who to, though? No police around anywhere. The young men vanished into the town.

You know what really annoys me about all this?
No one in authority really cares.

Did nobody think to get the boat's registration and report it to the police? The crew must have known that the illegals were on board.

I think not WM, i can't remember of this ever happening there before.
What beats me is where that boat came from.

Whitby is well off the normal routes. I wonder if there was a transfer at sea - new routes opening up to less well known or suspected / vigilant ports?
