My sister just messaged me, one of the registrars for Hannah’s wedding next week (they have to give two names) is Alice S***ll - which was my late mum’s name! Absolutely extraordinary, it’s an unusual surname too

As we have a rather German/French/Flemish surname, it's always a surprise to see another one.

Ours is fairly unusual too, but for someone with her dead grandmother’s name to be officiating at H’s wedding is really strange

My brother-in-law is so naughty! He always (very affectionately) used to call Mum a witch, as she was good at predicting things and making lucky guesses. He says that if the registrar turns up on a broomstick we’ll know it’s a message from Mum

It is funny Ria, he loved Mum but they were very jokey with each other
